By MORGAN LEE Associated Press Writer
MEXICO CITY July 2, 2010 (AP)

..."Gangs often fight for control of the routes they use to smuggle drugs and people across the border, and also abduct migrants from each other. The violence near the Arizona border is one reason given for a controversial law passed in April requiring police there to ask people about their immigration status in certain situations."

..."Chavez, 41, served five years in a Louisiana prison on drug distribution charges, according to Mexico's central intelligence database. He was detained in Mexico in 2008 by the Mexican army on drug trafficking allegations and released, only to be promoted within the Azteca gang, Federal Police said."

...sorry, accidentally hit "enter" before finishing!

the rest is:

"The State Department, meanwhile, announced new travel restrictions Friday for U.S. government employees working away from the border in Mexico and Central America. As of July 15, they and their families are barred from crossing anywhere along Texas' border, north or south, because of safety concerns. The U.S. government continues to urge Americans to exercise extreme caution or defer unnecessary travel to certain parts of Mexico."

And there is a solution to avoid deporting all the illegals?!

Since Mexico will not co-operate with records on their citizens we can only assume the illegals are Mexico's worst. So far many are proving to be just that!!

Instead of securing the border, US citizens are being warned to stay away from border areas.
Seems like the Obama administration has de facto given lare sections of our country back to Mexico.
Isn't the basic function of the Federal government to take responsibility for national defense, which by definition includes securing the borders.
Seems like major dereliction of duty to me.

Yes it does. And the escalation in violence is frightening. Perhaps winding down in Iraq should be followed by ramping up on our southern border.

It does rise to an impeachable offense. Especially with the present violence and his refusal to act. Whether he just does not know what to do or has a sinister objective, it is impeachable.

He reminds me of the story of the post turtle. In driving through the Southwest you will occasionally come across a "post turtle" It is somewhat of a mystery, even to the turtle. He does not know how he got there, has no idea what to do about his situation. That is what obama projects.

Right now he is in the midst of the most failed presidency in America's history and has no hope of future improvement.
