I did something different last night: I wrote a letter. Not an e-mail, or a phone call or even a card. But a letter. granted it was type written on the computer, but I used a calligraphy font, so it appeared kind of hand written.
It was fun. Maybe I'll do it again.
Anybody here want a letter?

Nice avatar! I am stuck in the middle of colts country and bears country. Rooting on bears though, since it has been awhile. Personally, I am a cowboys fan, but crossing my fingers for the bears, think it will be a really good game!

Hi everyone

I hope all of you are doing well. This month has really slipped by. I hope all of you are staying warm. The weather here in north Georgia has gotten very cold. It will be in the twentys for the next few days.

All is going well with my family. Yesterday I went shopping with my youngest and her best friend for a prom dress. It was so much fun. The girls were very reasonable in style and price. Their prom is at the end of March and it will be at the Fox theater in Atlanta. They don't have dates so a bunch of girls are going together with no escort. I think that is so great. I remember when I was in high school you never went to the prom without a date. Times sure have changed.

I started on a diet before Christmas and it has been going real good. The ring I ordered from Keltic is now too big. So when I reach my weight loss goal I will be ordering a new ring. I want the same design but this time with the gold trim. That is going to be such a nice reward.

Nothing much is going on. Everyone take care

Gwenlee

Hello everyone!!!

Another Sunday, another day at my folks', doing laundry and going through the help wanted ads. Seems kinda strange, though, with no football this weekend.

Everyone here in Chicago is excited about the Bears playing in the Super Bowl next week in Miami.

Rensselear, Indiana area, right?

Hello all! We had a little bit of chilly temps for us here in the desert and a wee bit of rain today. Kind of a nice change, actually, cause we don't see rain very often. All is going well. Not much to report.

Gwen! I have heard about your cold temps there in GA. I don't miss living there at all...sorry! Miss the beauty, but that is it. A prom in March?! Wow! They seem to get earlier and earlier every year! Yeah, things are so much different now aren't they? I am sure your daughter will have a blast of a time. I have been to the Fox theatre many times. such a really cool place. Good on you for losing the weight! How is work going for you?!

Wish all you NFL fans luck in your choice of who wins. My hubby is into college sports instead. Honestly? I don't really care for any of it! rolleyes.gif I would rather do many other things!

Well, hope everyone is doing well, taking care of themselves and staying safe.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Hope everyone is donig well and staying warm out there.

CR I heard that you all had snow a while ago. Didn't know it snowed in your part of the desert! We have had strange weather, more snow than usual and then nice 50 degree weather. Wierd

gwenlee-good for you!!! I wish I had the self control or whatever it takes to lose what I need to.
My mom is taking us all on a curise this summer and I want to feel comfortable in a swimsuit. Hope I can learn to say "no" to more junk foods soon!

I won't be watching the game this weekend, but I will probably watch the commercials. That is always the best part of the super bowl!

Take care everyone and have a great rest of the week!

Hey all,

Warm in Ottawa today...11 C (12 F). Well, warm in comparison to the deep freeze that we had last week. When you can go out and your eyeballs don't freeze, it's a good thing!! Bought a new pair of skates today and will probably bring them for a test run in the next few weeks on the worlds longest skating rink, the Rideau Canal (almost 5 miles long).

Gwenlee,

I usually feel bad for people when their rings no longer fit but in your case, congratulations are called for. I can always do sizing on the ring for you but if you have your heart set on the combination ring, I won't try to stop you.

Actually, I am closer to Lafayette, just a little south of it, but there are a number of fans for both sides, makes for an interesting superbowl party!

I have been extremely busy these last few days and Haven't been on sad.gif I bought a new vehicle, but then my furnace went out. So, I had to buy new parts for that. I got to go to Indy this weekend to drop off my daugther at her dads, then turn around and go to ILL to pick up a guitar. Then obviously, I will be watching the superbowl on Sunday, along with conquering the first 2 chapters of the new class I have this term. Needless to say, I am gonna be busy!

I'm so glad the end of the week is here. I had a weird work schedule and I didn't get to dance.

Keltic- I really do have my heart set on a combination ring. This year will be my 29th wedding anniversary. At first I was going to order another sterling silver ring, but my hunny said to order the the gold one, but I'm not a big fan of gold. I really like silver so we made a compromise. I figured by August I will be at my goal weight. So I guess I will put in my order around June. I can hardly wait. I'll go by a jeweler and get sized when I place my order.

So far I have lost 10 pounds. I have 25 more to go. I broke down and went to see a nutritionist and a MD. Come to find out I don't eat enough. Can you believe that? So I have been put on a high protein diet, and some medication. The high protein diet is hard at times because I love carbs. You know pasta, potatoes and breads. But my real problem is not enough calories. As I reach my goal I will get to add some carbs. Christmas was the hard part but the nurse at the office said all they expected of their pt was not to gain any weight.

Sister night: I mainly went of a diet not just to look better, but for my health. We have a strong history of diabetes with all of the other complications. It is amazing how much better you feel when just a few pounds have dropped off. And my family and friends have been very supportive.

It has been so cold this past week and a half. Yesterday we had freezing rain/sleet. Yuk!! There was snow in the northern counties. The kids got to stay out of school. Which was good because we had a coating of ice.

Lady of the loch: We had to get a new car too. Hated to do it. But the engine went out. About 2 years ago we had to get a new heating and air system which was a big ouch.

Ballydun: Lucky you a cruise. I hear they are a lot of fun. Where are you going?

Well I have to go. I'm going over to my best friends house for coffee.

Take care everyone

Gwenlee
