Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! My name is Sarah and I am new to posting at the forums here, but I have been listening to Highlander Radio for about the past five months. I absolutely love it. It is such a great alternative to the sorry excuses for radio stations in my town To let you know a little bit about myself, my interests are music (most genres, but especially Celtic and Bluegrass), horseback riding, artist promotion, and going to concerts. I am a self taught guitarist and mandolinist. I am a college student studying for a career in the music industry, hopefully as a promoter or manager for solo artists and groups.
Have a wonderful day!

Hello all you Celtic Radio people!
So glad I can participate in St. Patrick's Day Contest! I love to to the music here, especially bagpipes and drums! Skyedance, Heather Dale, and Mary Black. Soon I'll get a broadband connection, then my life is all ! !
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all from my desk just outside our nation's (US) capitol.
As on most day's I am enjoying the streaming audio as I work.
RE: the references to corned beef and cabbage in some earlier posts.
It is my understanding that this was a taste acquired by the many Irish immigrants to the New England (read Boston) area. The "New England Boiled Dinner" of corned beef, potatoes, and cabbages was part of the very limited menu of foods that would keep through the long winters.
I'll be going to New York today for the parade under the guise of a business trip (I am so happy the Interphex Pharmaceutical Conference is today!!). Will provide a full report on NYC happenings on my return!
"I am a Canadian by birth, but I am a Highlander by blood and feel under an obligation to do all I can for the sake of the Highlanders and their literature.... I have never yet spoken a word of English to any of my children. They can speak as much English as they like to others, but when they talk to me they have to talk in Gaelic."

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields. May the leprechauns be near you, To spread luck along your way. And may all the Irish angels, Smile upon you St. Patrick's Day.
