The Scots of course insist that the pipes produce music. But the point is after all not too important. For those who love them, the pipes can evoke more vividly than any other instrument, high emotion, they can inspire valor, and tell of tragic tales of battles long ago. They can call forth merriment or sentiment. It does not matter what the sound is called, those who are deaf to its merits would not understand anyway.

]AN EXCERPT FROM A POEM THAT I WROTE ON 10/11/07
WE CAN'T CHANGE WHAT WE HAVE DONE.... BUT ONLY TAKE A LESSON FROM EACH EXPERIENCE AND MAKE THE MOST OF EACH MINUTE THAT WE HAVE LEFT AND TELL OURELVES THAT IT IS OK TO LIVE, LAUGH AND CRY..... PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO GIVE US WHAT WE CAN AND SHOULD EXPERIENCE AND WE NEED TO CHERISH ALL OF THE TIME THAT WE SPEND WITH OURSELVES AND OTHERS MAKING THE MOST OF THE SPECIAL MEMORIES THAT ARE OURS.. AND THE ONES THAT WE HAVE YET TO CREATE WITH THE PEOPLE THAT WE HAVEN'T MET!!!!![/SIZE]
Not quite sure what I'm doing with these things! Being a complete technotard! I'm trying to be on the thread to wina CD! Subtle eh! Lovely idea from Caltic radio - och and did I say I hope to win one! *vbg* I need one way out here in Western Australia! I get so homesick at this time of year, even after 36 years away! Season's Greetings to everyone! Kate in Brigadoon
Could somebody explain the symbols on the left about me! I think I'd like to be seen as dominie (teacher) which I am although retired now, instead of a peasant. What are the others all about? I will not have a chance to win a CD if the times are the consideration as I am about 12 hours ahead of USA eastern time. Cheers - slainte! Kate, Lady of Lallybroch!

G'day kate!!
The symbols on the left give tidbits of info. The large Celtic Cross is an Avatar or picture that you chose to represent you. You can choose one of the ones offered, you can get the heraldry design for your name, or you can upload a picture to use (thats what I did, though I have a different pendant on now...hmmm...need to upload that one later) Anyway.... The "peasant" I believe is a representation of your place in the "posting ratio", ok, that isn't exactly right but the more posts you put up, the higher your 'position' as it were. After about 400 posts you get to choose some specialty titles or guilds or whatever (I am sure one of the Super-mods is gonna smack me soundly for hashing this up). Your flag is self explanatory as is the picture of the Lass. Does that about cover it?? Hope your doing well...... Peace
Todays contest will be between 7-8 PM tonight. We will have more details on the CD up for grabs today then!
At 7-8PM? In my country it will be Midnight -1AM!!!! I'll try to be here, as well (if my kids don't destroy me before, these days they're terrible ) Slàinte iolanda
