Zodiac

A man once lived
And strode this Earth
A Gentle Man
Of common Birth
A Highland Man
Of Campbells' Clan.
Dundee the Home
From which he roamed
To serve his King
And his Country.
A Corporals' Rank
He proudly wore
And Iron Tank
The steed he rode
From India to
Saharas' sands
He served the Crown
Through many lands.
On Battlefields
The Enemy meet
And fight with skill
Til their defeat.
Five long and
Bitter years he fought
Until that Spring
On Europes' Boot
His steed did stop
Its' body shook
As darkness came
To his blue eyes
For Death did claim
Another prize.
Would that Fate
Had been more kind
And taken not
This Gentle Man
And left to me
This Father He
To Love and know
Perhaps to be.

That's a great tribute to your father and his bravery for the sacrifice of is life. I'm sure from where he is that he is very proud of his son.

A very moving poem Camac.

Thank you,
LOA

This simple man
has served his country and king well.
He has fought the good battle
Brave and True
Protecting hearth and home.
Don't be sad or weep for him.
He has gone Home to a Loving Father's warm embrace.
He is at Heaven's Window with my Little Warrior
Watching over his family still on earth
Protecting them until
Father comes to call them Home.
At the golden gate he shall stand to welcome his loving son Home
and they shall never be parted again.
Families are Forever!
