In light of the "what did you watch on TV as a kid" thread, I wanted to ask this question:
Are there any TV shows on now, that you find to be so stupid, crass, unfunny or simply unwatchable?
Yea, I know. Not everybody here watches television. I watch entirely too much. It's how I grew up - in front of the tube.

Here is my list of current TV shows I avoid altogether.

1. NCIS. I dislike every character on that show and have not watched it in over a year. I'll turn the tube off and read a book before I'll waste any more time watching this show.
2. How I Met Your Mother. I watched the first 15 minutes of the first episode and have never returned.
3. Crossing Jordan. Used to watch all the time (Jill Hennessey wub.gif Loved her since Law & Order!). Now, I'll go to bed before I'll watch it.

Any way. Thats my list.

For me...I'm gonna skip over any reality tv competition show, be it Survivor, American Idol, Amazing Race, The Bachelor/ette, Fear Factor, etc. I don't need to watch all the backstabbing and negativity in these shows...I get enough of that here at work.

I will stop and pause for Deal or No Deal...that show is just INSANE! and Howie Mandell is so awesome in that show! Good to see him on the airwaves again.

Any reality show. All the backstabbing and catfighting turns me off.

Also, I predict that Julia Louis-Dreyfus' new show will last exactly three episodes.

I'm surprized it got off the drawing board! But ALL those big city shows (FRIENDS, SIENFELD, ETC ) do NOTHING for me. They have nothing in common with my rural life and I don't find them the least bit funny.

rolleyes.gif Best to ask me which show(s) I do watch! I could count them on one hand, I'm afraid. Ah well....

Hey there!!! I liked Judging Amy, when it was on...now it is in reruns.

I almost always watch Desperate Housewives(it is so far-fetched, it is funny!), Grey's Anatomy, and of course, the Sopranos.

A good comedy (Once in a while) can be found on the boob toob, also!

What ever happened to the "Oldies?"

Here's to Archie Bunker!!!! beer_mug.gif beer_mug.gif beer_mug.gif beer_mug.gif

There are so many "bad" shows. . .hmmm. I don't watch a whole lot of television, but there are some that really make me question why certain shows are on the air and why do people feel compelled to watch them?
1. Jerry Springer
2. Any reality TV with the exception of the "reality" series that I have seen on Public Television: Colonial House, Frontier House, etc. they're historically based.
3. Soap Operas~can anyone explain why these are still on the air? Ouch.
4. Talk shows
OK. I'll stop. We went without cable for 4+ years and had the "basic cable" package this past Autumn and I am tempted to have it disconnected again!
We have 2 sons, ages 4 and 8, and I find myself disturbed by crime show promos that are very graphic. . .and I cannot understand why they are aired on a weekend morning.
Arrrgh. Sorry, this is a bit of a sore spot for me;)

I can't stand CSI (any of the versions), Amazing Race/American Idol, the OC and any other shows like it...
