Well, to tell the truth, this was not the first time I have met Diana. In the early days of her writing, and before she had to worry about security, she and my in-laws lived on the same block. So when my wife and I would go down to visit we would meet her all the time. Walking dogs, washing the car, stuff like that. There also used to be neighborhood cook-outs and Diana and her husband would sometimes come.
Now, when ever she is due to come to town we make a point to attend. It's nice to get personalized autographs on your books as my wife has.
Me, I'm sorry to say have only read Outlander and have little interest in the rest of her writings. Wrong hormones. So I attend kilted and pose for photos.

So you used to live in AZ, Wizard? Then you would have lived an hour from me. I see you live in beautiful BC now. That is one place I want to go to.
I hope to see Diana next month. We all attend what used to be the Mesa Highland games together, but it has moved to downtown Phoenix this year. All us Ladies of Lallybroch fans (includes men and women who love her books) have the pleasure of dinner with Herself. I will keep you all posted if we get the honor again this year.
CR..I am still reading Drums of Autumn I best hurry up have two more to go and I still am not looking forward to reading The Fiery Cross. What was the next one called something Ashes?
Now do I understand that Diana Gabaldon is putting out another series of this? I just hear bits and pieces..thought you could fill me in.
hey Rindy! Don't feel bad. I still haven't read A Breath of Snow and Ashes, her latest book of the series. I mean I am on Chapter 35 or something like that but I keep getting interrupted and can't seem to devote the time I need to finish it.
Diana is coming out with another book in the series. I forget the name but she talks about it on her website. http://.www.dianagalbadon.com No, it will not be the last book. She believes she has one other to finish the series.
If you all go into her website, you will get a glimpse of her ideal image of Claire. The artist she hired to do this protrait did a really outstanding job...I think.
Hey Sekmet! Well it might help if I spelled it correctly! thanks for letting me know. hee hee http://www.dianagabaldon.com
Scroll down to near the bottom and see the painting of Claire and tell me what you all think. It is how I would have imagined her to look like. This is all in preparation for the graphic novel she is working on.
Celtic Rose, thank you for the link. I agree with Sekhmet the portrait is wonderful. I am so glad to know I am not the only one behind on reading the series. Sekhmet 4 times???? You must be able to speed read... someday I will get to 1 time...lol...
Well, to be fair...the first couple of books have been out for quite some time. I don't get much reading time anymore, between all of the other things I do and that pesky thing about there only being 24 hours in a day.
Her books are very easy to read, though. I can rip through 'em when I get time.
Sekhmet, that's what worries me the "been out for awhile now" ha...I will be in the grave before I get them read...lol
I will say I haven't read a series of books in my life. I agree when you start reading one of her books it's very hard to put down....she is a wonderful author.
I should be reading one right now..but nooooo.. hahaha
hey ladies, don't feel bad. I have yet to finish A Breath of Snow and Ashes. Just not enough hours and time for the day. Just the way it is.
I did love the portrait of Claire. So glad to share while Diana works on this graphic novel. As more images come up of other characters will share with you, ok?
I just thought I'd drop in to meet everyone. I'm going to read through all the old posts to see what's been going on. I'm on my second time through Dragonfly in Amber right now. I have read, I think, the first 4 books and now I'm rereading them before I move onto the ones I haven't touched.
My daughter says the Lord John series is pretty good. Has anyone got any feedback on them? I haven't gotten into them yet.

I have read all the "Outlander" series except for the latest, "A Breath of Snow and Ashes." I am still working on that one.
I have read the first book of the "Lord John" series. IMHO, it was ok. Nothing like the Outlander series, but Lord John is just not one of my favorite characters. I have heard that the second book in this series is much better. I am sure I will be reading it, but I really need to finish the latest in the Outlander series first!
I have been to Dahlonega many times as I used to live in GA. I had no idea Diana was there! That must have been exciting! Glad you got an autographed book, too!
I am part of the Arizona Ladies of Lallybroch group. GA has a chapter as well, did you know that? Every year we try to have at least one dinner with "Herself" but not sure if it is going to happen this year or not....boo hoo.
Thanks for the heads-up on the Georgia group, CR. I'll have to look into that. I've been a little remiss on my reading lately as I've been reading some non-fiction and haven't been back to Jamie and Claire in a couple of weeks. It's about time, though. I'm sure I'll be back on track soon.

Hey! Wombat! I can most certainly identify with what your saying. I am very behind in my non-fiction reading as well, but doing a lot of informational type reading for too long! I hope to be back on tract soon as well.
