Well you have come to the right place to find some Scottish music, but dont stop there enjoy all that this place has to offer Irish and Celtic , but as for as my opinion some of my fav's are Runrig, Scottish Rogues, Wicked Tinkers, Battlefield Band, just to name a few that should get you started.

~~ I have so many Favs that few come to mind right now, some good contemporary Celtic artists are Runrig, and Six Mile Bridge. Along the same style as Enya, my favs would have to be Nightnoise, Secret Garden, some of David Arkenstones (Celtic Book of Days), get back to you with more when my mind clears lol

Richie Blackmore of Deep Purple!!! I actually have a couple of Blackmore's Night albums (yes record albums). I haven't listened to them in years but do remember that I really liked them. Some day I'll get into hooking up my turntable again so I can listen to my old albums.

For the younger people on this forum, you might know a turntable as an instrument that makes scratchy noises but if the guy would just let the record go, you'd actually hear music.

Ok, try this:

I love Simon & Garfunkel, Mamas & Papas, etc...
A turntable and 8 track deck were both requirements when I built my stereo
I like early Beatles
And although I don't care much for Bluegrass, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Kenny Rogers, and Willie Nelson all deserve and/or have a well earned spot in my library

Want to guess *MY* age based on that? And should I mention I'm looking for a victrola to play a 1906 Vaudville Comedy I have on an Edison Cylinder?

If you are interested some Scottish/Celtic Rock music, there is a couple of USA bands you should try and listen to.

My favorite is Neil Anderson, I have heard him refered to as the "The Jimi Hendrix of the highland bagpipe" www.antipypr.com

Another good band is "Seven Nations" and also "Hadrian's Wall". I Know you can download some sample mp3's from their sites.

I didn't read back, but if someone is interested in "Celtic American Folk Rock" ™ Emerald Rose You might try Amadan, or the just mentioned Emerald Rose. Both are great U.S. bands.
