Patch, it does certainly seems like there's more illness's around it seems, or, like you said, maybe ,perhaps, were all getting a tad bit older?? Seems like when my husband hit 50 he went screaming downhill. I hope I dont have that to look forward to.
It got to me at 45. I am used to it now. I just move from one calamity to another. Obviously some fare much better. I did all the wrong things when I was younger and they just caught up with me. Now I am sitting here eating fat/sugar free (?) ice cream. If you like it do not ever look at it after it has melted and come to room temp for a while. Strange things happen to it.
I just keep hoping that I inherit the health and longevity from my dad's side of the family. His parents (who were from the old country) lived well into their 90's and my dad is a very healthy 86. He plays golf about once a week and looks much younger than his age. He told the people at the golf driving range where he works part-time (2 or 3 days a week) that he is going to retire at 90 and they will just have to sell the place then.

Never had sugar free ice cream, I had the no carb/low carb ice cream once, and thought I was going to die, the stomache calamity was horrific. I've been fairly healthy though, so far, other than little odds and ends.

It is a weak attempt on my part at healthy living. Actually I eat now like I should have 40 years ago. I didn't have time all those years. About 25 years ago I still thought I was not indestructible! I was a heavy smoker, I drank, ate anything I wanted and when I was single I was a party animal.
I "earned" the health problems I have now!
I encourage everyone I know to develop a healthy life style.
It's a lovely Tuesday afternoon, I just got back from Home Depot with 5 bags of potting soil, and out the window I can see a mess of plants that need to go in the ground. SOON. My mom and I went to an aged uncle's house yesterday and dug up a bunch of things... rescued them, actually, as the decrepit house has a chance of being sold with the others on the street for some kind of development. So everything will probably be bulldozed, and this uncle had the most wonderful gardens before he went to a retirement home.
Iris, ferns, lilies, wisteria, several plants I can't name but know what they'll do when they bloom... but where do I plant all this stuff?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
That's a big ole yard out there, I'll figure something out. AFTER I visit here at CR and say hey to everyone!
Hey! Susan

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."
Well, since I can't seem to get into Highlander Radio today since it's too jam-packed with listeners, I'm listening to my Windows Media stuff and right now it's the Brobdingnagian Bards playing "Exclamation".
My boss should be coming in shortly - she had a flight from NY earlier - so I'll be here in the afternoon instead of knocking off at 2:30. But, there's really nothing happening now so I'm just noodling around the Internet and keeping my chair warm.
Finally I got in to Live 365 to listen to my Highlander Radio. I had to try about 3 or 4 times this morning before I could "sneak" in. The room was always full. There must be a party going on today.
So, it's a quiet day at work again. I have a few things to proof but that's about it. I'm catching up on the forums and listening to some good music. Yesterday, I registered the name for my girlfriend's and my new quilt company. Whee!
It's a good day to be alive!
