I think it is a fasincating subject, but I think it is not wise to live your life by the position of the planets.

The skies can say much, but not in relation to one's future.

First off where did all the topics go... there used to be more here!

Hmm, not sure, I don't delete topics, you never know when you need to bring one back up.

QUOTE (Shadows)
Spirituality is a persons perception of how they fit into the whole scheme of things.
It requires knowledge or understanding of one's complete surroundings and how those things are linked to one another and you. As one grows in understanding and perception, one can only change to fit into those ideals.

To limit one's growth in all things spiritual at anyone point along the lifelong path is not in one's interest. Seek all things of the spirit and apply them to your parochial existence.

Well said, my friend, and food for thought!

Roy Batty

An aggressive leader that lives as you please, you are determined to seek out the answers for your questions.

If only you could see what I have seen with your eyes!

Roy Batty is a character in the Blade Runner universe. A profile and analysis of him is at BRmovie.com.

Hmmmm, after reading the profile, I am not sure what to think of this.

I think the word Worship could easily be replaced with Devotion, and would have a much more profound effect. When you're devoted to something, it means you have love for it, and appreciate it, not that you are a slave to it.

ooh, nice!

QUOTE (urian @ May 15 2004, 03:51 AM)
I was taught by an old witch when I was 13(I think she was 70 or so then and that was 16 years ago) to use a regular card deck and some spreads that I haven't seen anyone else use.
Just wondering if anyone else has used a normal deck. Now mind you, the deck I use I've had in my posession since I was 11 and I'm the only one who uses it so...it's not like I pick up a deck during a poker game and give someone a reading.

My mither in law uses a deck of regular playing cards. She stopped doing it after seeing the death of a friend.

I was very upset with Nashville Star. Natasha Valentine ( the 1950's looking girl short black, punky hair) Was AWESOME! The judges told her to go outside her 'box'. She did and the judges voted her off for doing that. That made me very upset. She is very talented.

was she a psychobilly chick doing country music?

Now this is just TOO WEIRD ...

"Berg, Al Qaeda linked before"
By JAMES GORDON MEEK in Washington
and TRACY CONNOR in New York

In a bizarre coincidence, Nick Berg crossed paths with Al Qaeda years before its henchmen beheaded him, when his E-mail and password wound up in the hands of 9/11 suspect Zacarias Moussaoui.

It happened in 1999, when Berg was at the University of Oklahoma and Moussaoui was enrolled at a nearby flight school, allegedly training to be an Al Qaeda hijacker.

After Moussaoui came under scrutiny in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, the FBI discovered he had Berg's university E-mail password.

"In 2002, the FBI was following millions of leads in the wake of 9/11, and one led to Mr. Berg," said a senior Justice Department official.

After questioning Berg about the tie, the feds concluded he had never actually met Moussaoui, who had friends and roommates at the same college.

The matter remained closed until Berg's ill-fated visit to Iraq this year.

When he was detained by authorities in Mosul in March, FBI agents came to grill Berg, and he volunteered details about his previous dealings with the bureau, the official said.

But the eerie link between Berg and the terrorist cabal that later decapitated him "turned out to be total coincidence," the official said.

I totally respect what you have said!
And I think it happens alot. I for the most part do not label myself as being any 'religion'. Or worshipping specfic diety(s). Which you and I have discussed over the past couple of years. ( WOW that's a long *** time! wink.gif )
I found, much like you, that living what you belive is far more satisfying.

I too did not agree with many things involved in Wicca, and other beliefs as well. And did not want to be put into a 'catagory' of belief. Pick and choose what you want and leave the rest. Why put a label on it?

Congrats, MAry on your realization!

BIG HUG,
Jason

I have been slowly moving out of the realm of Wicca for a few years now. The more I learn, the more I realize that I have no desire to be bound to any form of religion, be it pagan or no. It is a very liberating feeling, actually.

Why am I leaving Wicca? I will try to explain, but I may not be able to put my feelings into words. I do not like the thought of worshipping deities. I do believe they exist, but I think they should be honored, rather than worshipped. I cringe when I think of performing a ritual. It's funny that the verb mostly used with the word "ritual" is "performing". To me it implies that you are putting on another persona, rather than being yourself.

My idea of connecting with the spiritual is tracing my fingers through the dirt, or being aware of the wind caressing my face, or admiring the way the water dances on pebbles in a stream.

I don't know what else to say except that this is exciting for me, and I would love to read what your comments are.

Love,
Mary
