I like it and it is needed more now than ever before.

QUOTE
Recall of an elected official is a cumbersome business; voting them out is far less so. But what that always boils down to is a lack of specifics as to why a particular politician should be tossed out on his butt. With one simple phrase, Norquist has given us a rallying cry and a justifying charge of generalized misconduct without having to enumerate all the various and sundry insults and violations.

We the people find you in contempt of your constituents, and therefore unfit to continue serving in the office to which we elected you.

Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer "am I worth dying for?" - Eleanor Roosevelt

The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools.

My state does not even have a recall provision.

I like the "We the people find you in contempt of your constituents, and therefore unfit to continue serving in the office to which we elected you" statement. I will pass that around.

Yes, yes, and yes.

You campaign...we decide...you perform...or be tossed out.

I have come to the conclusion that all incumbents are the problem. Time for some fresh blood in the system. I believe that the founding fathers felt that you serve your country for a few years and then return to a private life. Not become a career politician and gum up the works.

You are absolutely correct! Our forefathers envisioned citizen legislators. It was to be a public duty to briefly serve one's country, not a life long place at the public trough!

Maybe, we will change this mentality!

Patch;

I agree that being a member of Congress/Parliament should have term limits. Say two four year terms at the most. We could use system like that up here. Unlike yours where the Pres. is limited to two terms our PM can be in power as long as his party is elected and he remains it's head. The only way our PM can be removed is if the party calls a leadership convention and he is defeated.

Camac

We have a rough road ahead of us but we do have the "possibility" of returning to more responsible government in the future. I have decided that I must work to effect this change for my childrens, grandchildrens future and beyond.

In our respective governments if enough people want change and work as a group, change will come. Some people do not have that luxury.
