My dad told me that if I ever saw a man beating a woman and I did nothing about it, he would beat me to death. Dad was only 5'6", but I believed him!! What if you inherited a large fortune, but the stipulation was that you could only leave it for one person? Who would that person be and why?

One is about 1745 in North America - the pioneer time, next is Scotland in the Middle Ages. Of course there are many more....
