I have just returned from a 3 1/2 hour brunch with my two daughters and son-in-law and I had a great time. I consider myself to be most fortunate that I have two of the greatest daughters any man could want or have. As we sat and chatted my youngest said let's not forget Grand Dad on this day. She meant the only Grand Dad she had known my step-father Ray McArthur. I also reminded her that she had an other Grand Dad on my side and we should also remember him, my Father David Campbell, Cpl. 48th R.T.R. R.A.C. Although we never knew him, only through stories and photos,he is their Grand Dad as I reminded Shannon and Paula that we are not really McArthurs but Campbells. Shannon ( The Rebel) said you might be a Campbell Dad but I'm a McArthur and always will be. You see growing up Shannon was closer to her Grand Dad than she was to me and she loved him very much. She was also very special to him as she was a fighter ( not a physical one) she had fought her way into this world and nothing would ever deter her from making her way through life. To be a Father is the greatest thing a man can be and just to hear his children tell him how much they love him is the greastest reward anyone could recieve. To all of us who have been blessed with being a Father I also wish a Most Happy Father's Day. king.gif
