I thank you very much! I have found my binder of older poems, thinking to share a few with you all.
(I wrote this last christmas, My first one away from home... )
It is Christmas and the sun is shining bright through a gray cloud of winter The spray of the sea mists dampens me slightly as I sit on cold stone
Missing
I pat the last of the rough wool blanket into place A quick glance around the small room finds all secure I walk to the window and look out to the sky Gray with clouds of winter
Missing
I turn from the window and look back to the empty room A book here, his coat there, a video game is paused My youngest son is in here somewhere Yet I look to the table where two empty chairs sit
Missing
Walking back in from the chill I close the door behind me, basking for a moment in the warmth My eyes catch the smiles of familiar faces in photos on the mantel I sigh and carry the food to a busy kitchen
Missing
Everywhere there is an empty chair Mothers, daughters, brothers and sons Pausing in thought and memory,
Missing... |

Yes, indeed! it is an awsome thing to hear the pipes, be it in the field or just behind the barraks. I have heard from many coming back from the deployment of a piper playing every night while they were there. They said it was awsome.
ps: there is also a all marine bagpipe band, the marines also have there own tartan pattern. |

My life is dark fingers feel for anything something to grasp in this world of empty loneliness
Touched a fire troubled my heart as it seared the surface of my skin leaving uncertainty
Curled close upon myself nervous of trying the pain slowly ebbing feeling of a used toy
Cautious I stumble on wanting but fearing all in the same heart beat
Soft warmth puzzled I push closer warmth eases into tense spirit as muscles ease and welcome
Suddenly overwhelming I rise and fall pleasure in every sound, every soft touch playful
Torn away
Though now alone the warmth still abides sometimes in dream and thought
I am content with such as this though it fills me as he glances my way, bright with laughter[/I] |

Hello! I stummbled across this site, quite accidentaly, looking for songs and poems of selkies. I have loved celtic music since I was a wee pup, singing many small little rhyms to recently the long loved ballads. I also play the classical guitar decently and attempting to learn the pipes. *LOL* It going well enough.... I also am an accomplished artist and recently poems have been flowing easily. After very little convincing, I have joined and am truly enjoying it. Thank you for such a site! |
