Elspeth and Barddas, you guys got me to thinkin'. We know you're both fans of The Waltons, and that had me remembering some of the other old shows that we used to watch. I'm curious now everyone! Which shows were your favorites?

I will always enjoy watching The Avengers, especially the Emma Peel years!
My husband is an Avenger fan, and also very much a fan of The Prisoner. More favorites include Dr. Who and Man From Uncle (too funny!)

Jog my memory now everyone! Which ones would you love to see again?

Ah, the good ol days! biggrin.gif

I was a huge fan of the All Creatures Great and Small series on BBC. I also tremendously enjoyed The Prisoner.

I am also a fan of the early years of MASH, before it got to be too preachy.

And my guilty pleasure, the old Emergency series, with Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe. It led me to become a paramedic. cool.gif

I really didn't watch too much TV growing up. After I learned to read, I always thought that what TV came uo with was lame compared to my imagination.

Good topic. thumbs_up.gif

Just my tuppence.

Hill Street Blues
Adam-12 (caught an episode recently and realized how cheezy it is by todays standards)
Emergency
CHIPS
Bonanza
Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Kung Fu
MASH
Andy Griffith (still a favourite)
Monty Pythons Flying Circus
Fawlty Towers
Get Smart
Mork and Mindy

A seventies music show which I think was called Midnight Special usually featured great groups.

That's all that I can think of right now but I'm sure that my memory is going to be jogged by other posts as it has by the first ones.

I think I may be telling my age, but who cares

The ones I liked was:

F-Troop
Rin Tin Tin
MASH
The Waltons
Combat
The Real McCoys
The Rifleman
Rawhide
Sugarfoot
Cheyenne
Daniel Boone
Andy Griffith

I could have kept going but I thought 12 would be enough.

How many of you remember these

Monty Python, The early years of SNL, Hill Street Blues, and Mork and Mindy. Truth be told, I still ahve a crush on Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island, so that would have to be on my list as well.

I remember the reunion show they did. Boy, has she let herself go.

When The Dukes of Hazzard was on in first run, I wasn't interested in girls yet, so her then-gorgeous legs didn't have my attention.

My dream car to this day is still the General Lee. One of these days, I'm gonna buy the make & model of that car and have it fixed up to look just like the General Lee, right down to the horn that honks "Dixie".

1. I luv The Waltons! I watch it every day of the week.
2. Dr. Kildare
3. Bronson
4. Dark Shadows

Yes barrdas, I watched ER last night. Is Dr. Romano under the helicopter? I used to live for Thursdays and ER. I liked it much better when Anthony Edwards and even better when George Clooney were on the show.

I LOVED "Quantum Leap"! Take me home Sam Beckett!
Sadly, it was canceled. Such a good show though....

My other favs would include:

Voltron
The Smurfs
Care Bears

Hey, what can I say, I grew up with cartoons.

I like the fanciful shows, the reality type ones remind me of how depressing this life can get.

jawdrop.gif I'm astounded. And not nearly so lonely as before. Turn up your speakers and click HERE for a blast from the past.

So AndyLucy, do you agree that the old movie Mother, Jugs and Speed was but a thinly disguised documentary? (I worked for an outfit just like that for a while). I could relate some stories that would give you a real bad case of the heebie-jeebies. While working there we had a tradition of all the crews gathering around the tube to watch the M*A*S*H reruns. That was back in the days when Denver Fire Department apparatus were not allowed on the Interstate Highways, because they sucked the white lines up off the pavement.

When I was a lad I preferred The Rifleman with Chuck Connors and of Gunsmoke. This in addition to The Mickey Mouse Club.
