Celtic Radio Community > Politics & Current Events > Plaquemines Parish, Fox Interview

In an interview with an official from Plaquemines Parish just aired on Fox News, it appears that the "A Whale" from Tiwan is the FIRST foreign flagged tanker here and it is still being tested. La wants many foreign skimmers now, not just one at a time. We have apparently waited two weeks for this behemoth to start and it has yet to pick up any oil.

Also the requested rock barrier was denied by the feds as it might scar the sand shoreline. Talk about stupidity (they can't blame bush) what the h#ll do they think oil is doing. Remove the rock barrier and wave action returns the sea bottom to normal in a season. Oil though will remain buried under the sand for 50 years or more. Go dig into the sea floor or along the shore line in Prince William Sound and below the new sand that has filtered over it you will find a foot or more of oil tar. The fishing has not returned to normal and the hydrocarbons are still leaching into the sound. It is considered clean!

My, but it does appear that the administration is not being truthful with America. Growing up I learned to identify these people as liars.

There is, just now on Fox, a call from a woman in La who pleaded for people to look for and join a Tea Party group. Also she wanted to let people know that there will be a telethon to raise money to do for the people of the gulf what the govt claims to be, but is not doing.

Here is the link to a copy of the letter that was sent to Jefferson Parish concerning the rock barriers.

These are complicated issues and I have a good deal of sympathy for those struggling to figure out solutions that will work for everyone. Often the plans presented for one area have an adverse affect for another area so it is easy to see why it seems like nothing is being accomplished and no group is happy.

As far as the Taiwanese A-Whale being the first foreign flagged tanker working the spill, that is an error. The Juanita and Evi Knutsen have been capturing oil since at least the middle of June and are flagged in Norway. TransOcean has vessels out there and they are a Swiss company, although their vessels may be flagged elsewhere, they are still foreign. As indicated before, the Coast Guard said on June 15th that there were foreign vessels working the spill.

Strange that those in the gulf states trying to save their recourses can not find them.

Read your old posts, your numbers are changing. It appears you are engaging in the far left tactic of comparing apples and onions.

News release on both CNN and FOX

This administration, it now appears, was informed that there were regulation problems in the gulf and a spill was quite possible, this just after taking office. His action, call for more drilling less than 30 days before the catastrophe!

He makes victory in Nov. easy.
