Celtic Radio Community > CelticRadio Founders > Control Panel Changes

Posted by: CelticRadio 28-Apr-2009, 07:22 PM
Just a note that the new Founder control panel is just about done. We've made some changes in how accounts are upgraded and have also tried our best to stream line and optimize the control panel to load faster.

Email and Hosting has been moved to the new Web Services control panel which is barely functioning right now. We expect the new Web Services control panel to be fully functional in about 5-6 days.

Good to know...I found it and it wasn't working so I thought it was my computer being buggy...LOL!

The Founder's control panel is now completed. Please check it out and let us know if it is functioning properly for you:

We are currently working on the new Web Services control panel which will contain email and hosting services. It will be completed probably within a week.

Email is working, but sign-up for email and hosting may not be working until we finish off this new part of our site.

Are the tab links supposed to be working? None of them work for me, in any browser. Maybe it's just me. I hope not. But the only 'active' tab is the 'details' tab. The rest don't work.

Paul, I hate to say, but I'm having the same issue with the Control Panel. I'm using Firefox, and don't have time to test it in Internet Exploder at the moment. The Web Services panel tabs work, but the Founder Control Panel one does not.

Just tried them and they do not work for me. I am using Firefox.

Ok, we now see there is a problem on some browsers for the founder's control panel.

And yes, the new web services hosting panel works correctly in Firefox.

There is probably a coding error that Internet Explorer 7 probably forgives, but Mozilla (the gold standard) and Firefox don't forgive and it causes the page to freeze up.

So, we will locate the error and once fixed will post a message here.

A BIG thank you guys for reporting this. It is very difficult to test all of the browsers and sometimes we don't see what you might see with your own configuration.

The new menu system does work, checkout the web services panel:

So, in theory we should be able to fix the founder's control panel.

Ok, as of 4:23 PM today (5/3/09) the Founder control panel appears to be functioning properly for FireFox and Mozilla users.

We traced the error back to conflict between to javascript programs we were running.

Could a few FireFox users test this out please and thank you very very much!

In addition, we are going to install IE8 on one of our servers today and start to identify anything that is not compatible. Although, the gold standard is Mozilla and it should work on IE8 if it works on Mozilla.

Using Firefox 3.0.10, and it works beautifully, sir.

My compliments to the coding chef!

Me too and, uh, me too. biggrin.gif

As a side note, I am listening to Highlander Radio via Rhythmbox on Ubuntu 9.04. Are there any plans of adding a Founder's stream option for Celtic Rock Radio?

Thank God, it wasn't just me this time! tongue.gif And it's working great now! biggrin.gif

Right at this moment in time, no we don't plan on having a founder's stream for Celt-Rock-Radio. But anything is possible in the future!

We are actually thinking on having a contest for someone to come up with radio station IDs for Celt-Rock-Radio - to play when the stream starts.

And glad WallaceGal it is working for you! Finally I think we got the code right. It was a very tedious process but we think the new control panel is alot sleeker and more interesting than the old control panel.

We should have the web services control panel down soon. Alot of good and new stuff coming to that.

Its amazing how our development time table is about 4-5 times what we usually state! 4-5 days turns out to be more like 20-30 days! smile.gif

Very pleased to inform our founder's that the Web Services control panel is taking shape. Email services are now fully automated through this new menu system:

This means that the setup, upgrading and maintaining of email is now completely handled by our system. This includes, dare I say, cancelation too! But in the even you cancel your founder's account you will not lose web email, it will just be reduced to the standard size.

Should the Database, Advertising and Support tabs be working yet? In the Radio Web Services control panel, I mean. Still using Firefox 3.0.10 and XP.

Posted by: CelticRadio 25-May-2009, 12:09 PM
Those services are not done yet, but we expect them to be completed soon. Right now we are working on the web pages part for creating your own webpage. Should be some fun tools in there once we complete it.

Thanks, Paul! biggrin.gif Good to know I didn't kill something this time wink.gif

Does everyone find the new control panel easy to use and quicker?

Also, is the menu system confusing at all or can you get to the section you need to get to without any problems?

Posted by: WallaceGal 29-Jun-2009, 09:55 AM
I'm very happy with it. It's working great. You are full of awesome biggrin.gif Easy to work with, easy to understand.

Thank you!

I haven't been to the control panel in over a year, maybe two. I don't have any reason to go there.

I love it thumbs_up.gif Well done.

I just recently found out about the control panel. I love it. You all did a great job designing it. I have used it a few times.

Keep up the great work!
