I intstalled KaZaA earlier tonight, and before I knew it, spyware and adware all over my censored.gif hard drive!

I hate using wrestler-speak in normal conversation, but this is a special occasion. I felt like taking my CPU, shining it up real nice, turning it sideways and shoving it straight up KaZaA's collective censored.gif !

Umm, I would never use KaZaA...hehe just for the reason you found out. I use BitTorrent or eMule. Either of these programs do not put any spyware or adware stuff on the computer.

Hi Mdf
Well I'm back again and hopefully for a long time, My grand son fried my computer (new mother board and power supply, ect.) and just now got up and running again. Sorry to hear that you have had problems with your system, I had the same thing happen to me about a year ago when my brother downloaded Kaaza on my computer. Morphious is even worse. But you need to really check your system out, they also hide a worm in there that will start popping up child porn when you least expect it. you might remember a lot of us talking about this about a year ago. hope you get all this taken care of without any future problems.

I used Microsoft's AntiSpyware to get rid of the spyware and adware.

I have Norton SystemWorks installed on my computer, and that includes worm protection, so I haven't had a problem with that (knock on wood).

When I get a job, I'm just gonna sign up for Apple's iTunes Music Store. Not only can you download songs legitimately, but you can also purchase CDs.

Whenever I need something p2p (which isn't very often), I use gtk-gnutella.

Of course, that only runs under Linux. tongue.gif

Another good downloading prog is WinMX: no spyware/adware, very discreet, and safe. I've not any trouble with it, then again I don't download much at all anymore! smile.gif

Winmx is my favorite.
We used to have Kazaa Lite, which had no adware or junk, but I lost the floppy for it.
I found Winmx by accident and i love it, they have all the music on there that I love and also audio books, which I also love to listen to in my car on my way to and from work.

I used to use winmx
before that, I used audiogalaxy as well
found some hard-to-find old songs (no more release)
but I am no longer to use these, because I don't want to get in trouble
I found some good celtic music there as well
esp:
Dougie Maclean: Fiddle
Skyedance: Out to the hope street

they're pretty good, after listening, I bought the CD right away

Try using Ad Aware and Spybot S & D to get rid of all that spyware and adware. Google both names and download them. They're both free, and do a great job of keeping our computers at work clean.
