I am Jim Milne, now resident in The Villages in Central Florida. A Founder member of this group for almost a year, I am finally making a first posting.
I was born in Niagara Falls, New York, USA to Duncan Simpson Milne (from Montrose) and Isabelle Milne (from Arbroath). I made 4 trips to Scotland, and have many cousins and other friends there.
I have been retired for five years, have weathered a cancer operation 4 1/2 years ago, and am now cancer free. Love to golf and play here about 4 times a week.
Now at the young age of 67, I look forward to a busy, but relaxed regimen of social, sporting and travel acivities. My wife Kay and I go to movies and theatre as often as it moves us and play cards and other games as often as it suits us. We are active on Ebay, buying and selling, usually china. We collect various china and specialize in Royal Albert. We love and collect Blossom Time in Royal Albert. We are regulars at Estate and some garage sales.
I read a great deal and love British mysteries. My current favorite authors are Ian Rankine and Martha Grimes, but I read almost every type of literature.
I am busy now learning how to become a Floridian. I am trying to learn the flora and fauna, and how to live in this more tropical enviorment.
Thanks for reading and please write me a note if you have any comments or questions.

Hello James from the great Navajo Nation in Arizona! Glad to have you as a part of the forums! I was a member for quite a while before I started posting. I think you will find a great bunch of folks here.
Welcome aboard and have a great time meeting all the nice people that inhabit these boards.
By the way, I am traveling to Orlando in March for a Missions Conference. It' 14 degrees this morning, so maybe I can warm up in sunny Florida !

Good luck being a Floridian. My in-laws did it a few years back and they love it.
And, I like Martha Grimes too. Haven't read the latter Jury novels, so, I dont' know if Vivian ever marries anyone or not. Don't give it away. Must say, I always envied Melrose Plant, except for Aunt Agatha of course.

Compassion is the sometimes fatal capacity for feeling what it is like inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too. - Frederick Buechner

In my humble opinion, you have found one of the best websites ever. The people here are some of the nicest to be found anywhere on the net, and the music is simply out of this world.
So kick off your shoes, grab a mug of your favorite hot (or cold) beverage, turn up the music and have fun! I look forward to getting to know you better through your posts.
If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to ask anyone with the word "Guide" beneath their avatar. That's why we're here!
Again, it is so nice to have you with us. We are like one big family here, and we just love welcoming new members to the fold! I hope that you will enjoy your stay with us, and that you will come back and visit with us often. I feel quite certain that you will grow to love the place as much as I have.
Welcome to the family, my friend! And welcome home!

Hello James and welcome to CelticRadio! First I must say congratulations on being cancer free for nearly five years....I too have been free for just over 2 years! My wishes for you for many, many more years now that you've retired! Good luck ducking and surving the heat...mine is just a dry heat which is bad enough but hard for me to imagine the damp-heat!
Hope you'll feel like joining in on the message boards...we really are a friendly bunch! Best on the net, I think!
So you’ve been to Scotland three more times than I have, and you won’t have to shovel snow anymore. Just think, one post, and already I’m jealous, only kidding James, have fun.
