Celtic Radio Community > Celtic Music > Songs To Sing At A Session?

I was at my dance school's holiday party last night and a friend of my teacher's (a singer and guitar player who plays at many of our performances) and I were chatting. She, along with my TC (a musician as well as dancer) lead a session at a local pub every Sunday. I've been to it before but have only danced the odd time, never done anything musical. However, my TC's friend asked me, out of the blue, if I sang. As a matter of fact, I do, and while I've never had a single voice lesson in my entire life, people have said I'm an amazing singer (and to my own ears, I guess I'm not bad!).

So my problem is this: while I enjoy singing and I utterly adore Irish music, I have only learned three songs well enough to sing them at a session. And two of them really aren't going to fly with my TC (she's not a fan of the group I learned them from). So what are some good traditional songs I could learn to sing when I go to the session in two weeks' time? If you can give links to videos/audio of them and lyrics (I can't read music scores very well, if at all, despite being a visual learner!) that would help a ton.

Thanks very much in advance!
