Does anyone notice a big difference in the load time of the site and form in general? We implemented a new compression algorthym that sends compressed files. Just wondering how much of a difference you all see, if any.

Nah if anything maybe slower here. I noticed the home page is taking about same amount of time to load yet I noticed you have removed everything below the album area except counter. This alone should help speed things up being less to load yet theload time is still about the same roughly 15 seconds or so for me to load entire page and I nitced also the menu across the top didn't load for me it would drop down but there was no text across the top bar even indicating there was a menu there. Maybe a glitch or you fiddleing with it unknown but figured I woul dmention in case.

Been running some tools on the entire site looking for bottlenecks and such and the frontpage was way to much. Especially with some other items I want to add.

The reason I asked about the the load time is a server side compression tool I added which would effect all webpages included the forum. So you have notice a slow down in the forum too? It could be all of the work on the server slowing things down. Maybe see how it responds over the next few days.

The compression tool takes all HTML and compresses it by 80%; effectively speeding things up a bit. But it could slow things down for people on a slow (cpu) computer.

Yes, we have split the frontpage into two sections. It was just becoming to large. The first section has our welcome screen and currently playing song. The second section (page) will become known as the CRN Web Portal.

Also can we change the forum title back to Celtic Radio Forums like it was before. the new mails are confusing as there are several groups I get mail from that use initials and is sort of confusing plus helps week out the spam from the forum mails.

I get VERY laggy in the chat room.. this is only an issue in this site...

When I am on the web portal page and I try to click on a link to the Top 100 sites I get a page full of errors.
Any suggestions?

The chat system is actually is actually not part of our website. We use a service through Invision that provides the bandwidth and the means to connect to the chat room.

We will probably create our own custom chat room in 2004. It will look pretty much the same, but will probably use an IRC type chat room. There is really not much we can do until then.

The Top 100 Celtic sites - commonly referred to as our affiliates program - is in a sad state of affairs right now! Really, we just have not 'hit' that part of our site yet for redesign. It will most likely be early 2004 before we start working on it.

The CRN(CelticRadio.net) Web Portal will be enhanced over the coming weeks. We have already readjusted the look of the screen so we can fit more information on the portal. More details to come!
