Over here in the Atlanta area, we have Dragon*Con and it's a blast. One day, we would like to get to Comic Con. We shall see. It looks as though my son may go next year since he's finishing up photography on a Star Wars book that should be out by then and he's going to have to (oh, gee, my heart bleeds for him) go to promote it. Anyway, I'm sort of a newbie myself. I joined a couple of years ago but I haven't really started posting until recently.
