I got this email from a friend. Check it out!

The One Flaw In Women

By the time the Lord made woman, he was into his sixth day of working
overtime.

An angel appeared and asked, "Why are you spending so much time on
this one?"

The Lord answered. "Have you seen my spec sheet on her? She has to be
completely washable, but not be plastic, have over 200 movable parts,
all replaceable and able to run on Diet Coke and leftovers, have a lap
that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure
anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart and she will do
everything with only two hands."

The angel was astounded at the requirements. "Only two hands!? No way!
And that's just on the standard model? That's too much work for one day.
Wait until tomorrow to finish."

"I won't," the Lord protested. "I am so close to finishing this
creation, which is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself
when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days."

The angel moved closer and touched the woman. "You have made her so
soft, Lord."

"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You
have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."

"Will she be able to think?" asked the angel.
The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be
able to reason and negotiate."

The angel then noticed something, and reaching out, touched the
woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I
told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."

"That's not a leak," the Lord corrected, "that's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the angel asked the Lord.

The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow,
her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and
her pride."

The angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord!  You thought of
everything!  Woman is truly amazing."

And she is!

Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they
carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile, when
they want to scream. They sing, when they want to cry. They cry, when
they are happy and laugh, when they are nervous. They fight for what
they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take "no" for an
answer, when they believe there is a better solution. They go without,
so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened
friend. They love unconditionally. They cry, when their children excel
and cheer, when their friends get awards. They are happy, when they hear
about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break, when a friend dies. They
grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong, when they
think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can
heal a broken heart."

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk,
run or email you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a
woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and
love. They have compassion and ideals. They give moral support to
their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything
to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

SO PLEASE  - pass this along to all your women friends and relatives
to remind them just how amazing they truly are.

We are wonderful, aren't we? biggrin.gif There have been times when I've watched a sad tv program and get leaky! Usually my hubby gets his hankerchief out without a word and hands it to me! Yes I agree, I love being a woman and I like to be treated like one!

Cecilia,

That was a lovely piece to share. I love being a Woman. (Wife, Mother, dauther, Sister, etc.) I am most deffinatly one of the emotional ones, I think I cry over anything.

My daugters are the same, and they bring such a big smile to my face. They too will be proud to be of the female line!

as long as we are on the topic of Women, I have this piece to share with you:

-MOTHER-

There is but one and only one,
whose love will fail you never.
One who lives from sun to sun,
with constant fond endeavor.

There is one and only one,
on earth there is no other.
In Heaven a noble work was done,
when God gave man a mother.

That is great, Becca! Here is another one I love:

Before I was a Mom
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.
Before I was a Mom
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.
Before I was Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to
lullabies.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on
Pooped on
Spit on
Chewed on
Peed on
Or pinched by tiny fingers

Before I was a Mom
I had complete control of my mind
My thoughts
My body
And my mind.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child
So that doctors could do tests
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby
sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
When I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
Could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
Could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
Every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay
I had never known the warmth
The joy
The love
The heartache
The wonder
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much
before I was a Mom

I really liked that one, susieq! So very true it is! I have this one to share: It's a little on the funnier side, I hope you all don't mind! ~Becca~

A wise parent says...

Motherhood~ if it was going to be easy, it never would have started with somethin' called labor!

Shouting to make your children obey is like using the horn to steer your car, and you get about the same results.

To be in your children's memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today.

The smartest advice on rasing children is to enjoy them while they are still on your side.

The best way to keep kids at home is to make home a pleasant atmosphere~and to let the air out of tires.

The right temperature in a home is maintained by warm hearts, not by hot heads.

Raising a teenager is like nailing Jell-o to a tree.

Mothers(and Fathers, too!): People who bare infants, bore teenagers, and board newlyweds.

The joy of motherhood:the time when all the children are finally in bed!

Life's golden age is when the kids are too old to need baby-sitters, and too young to borrow the family car.

Any child can tell you that the sole purpose of a middle name is so they can tell when they are really in trouble!

Grandparents are simular to a piece of string~handy to have around and easily wrapped around the fingers of grandchildren.

A child outgrows your lap, but never outgrows your heart.

God gave you two ears and one mouth....so you should listen twice as much as you talk.

adolescence is the age when children try to bring up their parents.

You know the only people in the world who are always sure about the proper way to raise children? Those who've never had any!

Cleaning your house while your kids are at home is like trying to shovel the driveway during a snowstorm.

Oh to be only half as wonderful as my children thought I was when they were small, and half as stupid as my teenagers now think I am.

There are only two things a child will share willingly~communicable diseases and his mother's age.

Adolescence is the age at which children stop asking questions because they know all the answers.

An alarm clock is a device for awakening people who don't have small children.

No wonder kids are confused today. Half the adults tell them to find themselves; the other half tell them to get lost.

Kids really brighten a household; they never turn off any lights!

I love being a woman too, but I ain't takin no crap off any man! Ever!

One thing I really wished was equal was equal pay for all jobs. It's got a long way to go..

Posted by: IrishBecca30 09-Feb-2005, 09:51 PM
equal pay would be nice! It's just not fair! mad.gif

Posted by: Annabelle 09-Feb-2005, 10:05 PM
I'll have to find the statistics on pay scales but women are greatly still under paid

I say we all revolt! No more Babies! No more making dinner!

No more laundry! We get no respect!!!!
