LOL I thought I'd made it under everyone's radar!

Well, the summer's been insane, so time anywhere else has been...well, limited.

The SCA has me jumping. I'm the chronicler on top of being the deputy seneschal of our group, which is about to go full Shire. So I've been to a lot of events and such, seeing and being seen and all that. Fortunately it's after Pennsic and things are slowing down...kinda.

Ive been doing the ghosthunting thing as well...been to a lot of new locations and some old ones, and slogging through the data is time-consuming.

Also...I've been in and out of Gettysburg doing classes and lectures off and on, when I'm not on research trips. My research partner and I are working on getting a book together, but that's still in the planning stages at this point.

In case *that* wasn't enough, I also was invited onto the board of a local historical society. While they've been around for a few years, they have a lot of...well, *stuff*...that's been donated and such or has just come out of their storage and they have no idea what they have or how to catalogue it. So...that's where I'm coming in. That's where my Fridays go now. LOL When I'm not dragging things home to transcribe or scan in from here.

Also, I was bitten by the World of Warcraft bug. ::hangs head:: Yeah, I was sucked right in, so much so that I wound up taking over a guild. They're still in the process of rebuilding after a split, so...yeah, I'm Mommy there.

The baby is *wonderful*. He's a good 24 pounds now at nine months, is crawling and pulling himself up, and charming the socks off anyone he can manage a smile at. He's been coming with me when he can, but now that he's getting around more I've been forced to leave him at home more with Daddy. Currently he's terrorizing the cat, who has found that Seth can't get to the top of the bookshelf...yet...

The girls are doing great as well, Hannah's turing into a little hacker on the computer while Aislinn has a social schedule that would make a soccer mom blanche. I'll be getting them both into Girl Scouts shortly, which I think they'll really enjoy.

So what's new with you all? LOL

Glad you're well. Boy, do I remember those totally consumed SCA days -- and all that other stuff you're doing too! And the kids. Well -- drinking the midnight oil you must be, while doing a flaming sword dance with a candle lit at both ends. biggrin.gif

...while humming showtunes and balancing an urn on my head. Don't forget that part!

Good to see you back, dear! Glad that baby is doing okay! I've been out for a while myself. My wife and I separated back at the end of June. If we had made it to Nov 21, we would have been married for 20 years. Signed the separation papers on Sept 21 - my birthday. Some present, huh? sad.gif Anyway, I have my own apartment now which is smack-dab in the middle of downtown metropolitan Wytheville. (If you knew anything at all about Wytheville, you'd know what a big joke that last comment was wink.gif ) I love it. It is very convenient for work. I used to have to drive 20-30 minutes to get work, now its only 2 minutes - I could walk to work if I had to. And now I'm within walking distance of Wal-Mart (Yippppeeee! Wiz rolls eyes)

Anywa, jsut wanted to pop in and say hi, and glad your back. Hope to see you around the boards sometime soon!

Take care and God bless,
Allen

Yay! People posting in my threads! ::checks outside to be sure hell did not, indeed freeze::

Wiz, I'm horribly sorry! I never got any notification that anyone had replied to the thread so I just got a look at your post today. I hope you're feeling better by now...or at least a little more settled. It has to be a rough time you're going through right now.

And Rhys...yay! A SCAdian! Err...former one, that's close enough. What kingdom were you? I'm in beautiful sylvan Aethemlearc.

Oh! smile.gif Did you have an SCA thread in there? It's been years -- but I was seriously active in the Barony of the Bridge (Providence) a long time ago. I'll check it out.
