"Bar Mitzvahs?! Really?" No; sorry, I was being facetious (but hey; it could happen!). I do, however, pipe a lot of varied gigs besides just weddings and funerals; birthdays, retirements, anniversaries, graduations, Burn's Nights, St. Andrews Dinners, whisky tastings, Kirkin' of the Tartans, corporate events and trade shows, and of course St. Patrick's Day; pretty much anything someone's willing to pay the piper for. I also volunteer to play for local Canadian Legion ceremonies (particularly Remembrance Day), New World Celts events, and a nearby veteran's nursing home. Even piped once for the Tampa Bay Parrotheads...in kilt, Birkenstocks, and Hawaiian shirt, with a big paper mache parrot on my bass drone and multicolored leis for drone cords. It's good for a piper to live in an area with towns named things like Inverness, Dundee, and Dunedin.
