I used volume normalizer once, attempting to make the songs on the computer more consistent but the results is disappointing...the songs ended up getting more screwed up and badly distorted after that, I use cooledit (came with soundcard) it has digital level control, that can modify the sound level of songs, that gives me more control, and more professional quality it may take more time for tweaking and testing, but it's worth it is like cassette deck in the past, which has recording level control, has way better results than just ALC |

I agree, manual record level control is a lot better. And although I don't do a whole lot of recording to tape, it's something I was looking for when I went to buy my deck a few years ago. (my word, has it really been that long already?? --2000--) |
