I see I joined 11 months ago and have not posted yet! Time for something long winded I'm afraid. biggrin.gif
I live here in the NW corner of the US and can't really imagine living anywhere else. I play fiddle in several bands, one is Celtic oriented and called Maggie's Fury. The other members sing and write songs. Great Big Sea and other Maritime bands are big influences. They let me play fiddle tunes on occasion. I'm also a dance fiddler, playing for square and contra dances mostly (often with my banjo playing wife in our band Eat n Run) but have played for Irish ceili dances too.
My other passion is skiing. I was skiing in fresh powder earlier today! It was snowing and blowing and great fun. We have 10+ ft of snow on the ground. I'll be at it again tomorrow. The local mountain is closed Christmas day so if I can get up early enough for the 3 hr drive up to Whistler I'll ski Monday too.
Well, that must be enough of an intro by now! Happy just finished Hannukah, merry Christmas and any other celebration any one fancies at this time of year!
Gotta love internet radio note.gif note.gif

Hello wowie! Filte gu Celtic Radio! Welcome to Celtic Radio!

In my humble opinion, you have found one of the best websites ever. The people here are some of the nicest to be found anywhere on the net, and the music is simply out of this world.

So kick off your shoes, grab a mug of your favorite hot (or cold) beverage, turn up the music and have fun! I look forward to getting to know you better through your posts.

If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to ask anyone with the word "Guide" beneath their avatar. That's why we're here!

Again, it is so nice to have you with us. We are like one big family here, and we just love welcoming new members to the fold! I hope that you will enjoy your stay with us, and that you will come back and visit with us often. I feel quite certain that you will grow to love the place as much as I have.

Welcome to the family, my friend!
And welcome home! smile.gif

Welcome Wowie. Sounds as if you stay busy with the music. You'll have to make a CD and send it to MacFive to play here. We'd love to hear you. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Hi wowie!

Welcome to CR and to all the great music and wonderful people who make this the nicest place to be biggrin.gif

Perhaps like me, you heard the great music and didn't think much about the forums and such, but I'm really glad I found them! There are interesting topics to discuss and lots of people to get to know. I look forward to reading more of your posts!

Have a great week!

Best cheers! Robbie

Hello wowie, welcome from central California the great San joaquin Valley. No snow here wish there was, I have not skied in years I use to teach cross country skiing in the Marine Corps but thats an altogether different type of skiing not much fun. But I tell you this you found a place that is loaded with fun and great people. Again welcome wowie.

DISCIPLINE MUST BE A HABIT SO INGRAINED THAT IT IS STRONGER THAN THE EXCITEMENT OF BATTLE OR THE FEAR OF DEATH.
General George S. Patton

Laws that forbid the carrying of firearms, disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assulted, and better for the assailants. They serve rather to encourge, than to prevent homicides. For an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
