I first saw it on irish central but the following description is from Youtube. Something new to look forward too. As usually they get something wrong. the daughter believes that the woman is a selkie which I believe was a seal not a mermaid. 'Ondine' Trailer. Starring Colin Farrell, Alicja Bachleda, Stephen Rea. "Ondine" tells the story of Syracuse (Colin Farrell), a local fisherman whose everyday life is transformed by a beautiful and mysterious woman (Alicja Bachleda) whom he fishes from the sea and who his young daughter, Annie (Alison Barry), believes is a mermaid. But like all fairy-tales, enchantment and darkness go hand in hand.
"Irishness is not primary a question of birth or blood or language; it is the condition on being involved in the Irish situation, and usually of being mauled by it."-Conor Cruise O'Brien
IGN had an interview with Mark Miller a comic writer who is currently working on a new superhero movie called Kick-A**. He wants to do a superhero movie set in Scotland with a scottish superhero. It will be low budget but he says that it will be as differernt from movies like Superman and X-Men as Stars Wars was from Dsitrick 9. Ive seen previews for his current KA movie and I hope the language won't be as bad for his Scottish superhero.
And why are they no heros in kilts in video games.? Somebody needs to design a Braveheart game. Not too serious, just fun.
Our local video star actually had it for rent so I didn't have ot buy it at wally World. I did enjoy it alot and I'll probably pick it up sometime. Right now I'm enjoying the Secret of Kells. Had to buy that one to see it but it was worth the $2 I aslo finished watching the Christmas Carol tonight (the Jim carey version). Did anyone else notice that he tends to slip into some sort of irish or scottish accent when he does the voices for the ghosts?
