What? Is it time to get up already? Why did I over sleep this morning? Can I hear the alarm tomorrow? Will I ever wake up?

]AN EXCERPT FROM A POEM THAT I WROTE ON 10/11/07
WE CAN'T CHANGE WHAT WE HAVE DONE.... BUT ONLY TAKE A LESSON FROM EACH EXPERIENCE AND MAKE THE MOST OF EACH MINUTE THAT WE HAVE LEFT AND TELL OURELVES THAT IT IS OK TO LIVE, LAUGH AND CRY..... PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO GIVE US WHAT WE CAN AND SHOULD EXPERIENCE AND WE NEED TO CHERISH ALL OF THE TIME THAT WE SPEND WITH OURSELVES AND OTHERS MAKING THE MOST OF THE SPECIAL MEMORIES THAT ARE OURS.. AND THE ONES THAT WE HAVE YET TO CREATE WITH THE PEOPLE THAT WE HAVEN'T MET!!!!![/SIZE]
Have you been raised a few inches by the paddle? Have you done a little raising yourself? (If paddling warps a child's personality, my dad warped me real good )
We may all be a wee bit warped, but we know right from wrong, and to treat others with respect! Which is more than I can say for MANY of today's youth! So, did I warp my son enough? I like to think so!

Hoka Hey! The more Liberals I meet, the more I like my dogs!
Is it okay if I say HIDY HO GOOD NEIGHBORS? Did you know that I've missed everyone SOOO very much??? Isn't it great to have good friends like you guys? Has everyone been behaving while I was gone? HMMMM???? You probably wouldn't like it if I had to warp you now would you?

Slàn agus beannachd, Allen R. Alderman

Yes I do. Wampum are beads made of white and purple clam shell. The purple was considered to be more valuable because only a small part of each shell is purple, the rest being white. Some people belive that wampum was used as money, and it was by the colonists. The Native people used it to record momentous events such as treaties, by looming it into belts that had form of pictographic "writing" as the design. Later, the English imported glass wampum for trade. It was used for decoration, but the old hand made clam shell beads are still used today for those occaisions deemed important enough to be recorded.
Good to see you and your brother here on CR. I missed his wit while he was gone, and was really starting to worry when we didn't hear from him for so long. I hope to hear more from you in the future as well.
That would be very interesting. And where did you come by a big bag of wampum? (I had to put a quetion in here to keep to the rules ) Is it very common on the East coast? It is not something we see out West?
Several years ago I was on the beaches of the Outer Banks. A lady approached me and told me a short history of the Quahog shell. From that point on I searched for the beautiful purple pieces of shell and have acquired quite a collection of it. Isnt it a beautiful shade of purple?
Yes, it is. But then nothing is ever as grand as the things nature creates. We have a beautiful agate that is only found in a small area of our county. It is called the Ellensburg Blue and comes in shades of blue from sky blue to "new jeans" blue. It is hard to find even in the area where it IS found, but people come from all over to look for it.
