This may belong in Kirk and Chaple but I'm going to say it here. I'm sure most are aware of his condition of a brain tumor. I'd just like to ask everyone to keep him in your thoughts and prayers no matter how you feel about him. I personally don't care for him a a politician at all. But he is a fellow man and American. My prayers go out to him and his family. thumbs_up.gif

The latest news this evening indicated that the biopsy results were not back yet. Any tumor in the brain is critical though.

The news last night (weekly review) indicated that it was the worst type of tumor. Again, I wish he and his extended family well.

Ted Kennedy’s must be doing ok, since he just sent out this message. (You don’t have to give any money. All you have to do is vote accordingly.)

Dear MoveOn member,
America needs Barack Obama. But a new president alone cannot fix what ails America.
Today, there are 49 Republicans in the U.S. Senate who could make it their mission to undermine Barack Obama's presidency.
Together, we can stop them.
If thousands of us come together to take nine Republican seats 12 days from now, Democrats will have a historic majority that will put an end to Republican stalling tactics. The years of Republican obstruction will be over.
But we must act now to win on November 4. History is being decided. Our action or inaction now can lead to triumph or defeat. Can you chip in $25 to help win key Senate races today?
https://pol.moveon.org/give/oct08_6.html?id...x&t=3Democratic Senate challengers are either leading or neck-and-neck with Republican senators. Seven races are pure toss-ups—they could go either way.
We can't control all the twists and turns of these races, but if we all do our part, together we can make sure Democratic candidates have absolutely everything they need to rush needed funds where they can do the most good.
Every dollar you give enables a candidate to call another voter, knock on another door or fund another campaign ad. This can make all the difference in races that may be decided by the smallest of margins.
Millions of undecided voters are in play across America, and we're trying to reach them one by one, day in day out, to make sure they join our side. Please chip in today:
https://pol.moveon.org/give/oct08_6.html?id...8-asZKf0x&t=4In these all-important days before the election, we must come together as one to restore an America of hope and greatness.
Thank you for all you do.
–Ted Kennedy

From what I hear, he is not doing well. His short speech at the convention may well be his last public appearance. He has not appeared in the Senate since. I had a secretary who died from a brain tumor and it is not nice. I wouldn't ever wish that on anyone.

Patch;

My Mother died of cance that started in the bowels, moved to her Liver, and then to her Brain where a tumour formed causing a massive stroke. She died a blind, speechless, vegetable. Horrible Death. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.I earnestly hope that this is not Ted Kennedys' fate.

I am one of many who never liked Kenedy's policies But I have sympathy for both he and his family as he has a truly devastating illness which usually has a poor prognosis..

Yeah, I don't agree with a lot of what he fights for but he is a fellow person first and needs to get all the help and support he can get. He's the last surviving member of the original Kennedy clan, so that means a lot. I do like some of his ideas on this healthcare reform he's pushing, but I hope what eventually happens is we wind up with a health care system like Japan's. Japan's got it figured out on taking care of everybody without the doctors' offices being log jammed or the government having budget problems funding it from what I've heard. I don't know a whole lot about it, but dad's told me its a good mix of both the public and private-type systems.
