This summer, during the week of my birthday, I'm going to Colorado for a fiddle camp. The camp is called Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp. I'm going the second week cause I have band camp the week before (I'd be in really big trouble if I missed that!). Is anyone else going to a camp of some sort for an instrument or anything really?

That sounds like fun! If you meet any fiddlers from the Philly area, be sure and turn them on to CR. Good ones are pretty rare out here.

Never been to a musical camp, but have been to a few Irish Language Immersion camps put on by Daltai na Gaeilge. Two days of language, music, culture and dance lessons. Always a blast! Have fun!

That sounds like good times! I played violin, or 'fiddle' for 8 yrs. I was actually going to go to the Concervitory of music for it. But after severe burn out i have not touched one since. Except for this past weekend. M'wife and I were at a music store sale and she put one in m'hands. I kick m'self now for stopping! GGGRRRrrrrr. I think it's about time to rosin the bow and get some new strings and kill a cat for a few months. I hope i can pick it back up quickly!

I would love to go to that camp! Sounds like a great experience! Enjoy!

Well, i shall be attending the Piping World Championships in August. Held on Glasgow Green it is a wonderful event, well worth putting on your calendar if you plan a visit to Scotland in August any year!

Are you playing in the Piping World Championships? Or just going to listen?

Only to listen... I haven't played since I was about 13!

I'm going to cheer on my Aussie relatives who are in a pipe band and are taking part.

Good luck to them!
