|Celtic Radio Community > Technical Support > Celtic Moon Player With Voting|
|Posted by: GODSPEED7 27-Oct-2014, 08:23 PM|
| Well, I've been noticing this quite frequently (haven't really tested the other stations but Celtic Moon); the Player with Voting will display a different song title than the one playing.
If I open the generic web player, it displays the same song as on the celticradio.net home page (after selecting the radio station from the drop-down list).
And I'm not certain if it is intentional, but the Player with Voting also does not vote using my profile, but as a guest, whether I am logged-in or not.
Sorry if I am bringing up old 'news'.. haha
Forgot to mention, I am using Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8.1 (auto-updates to most recent).

| If you want your "name" to show on voting use the stars under the playing now on the home page . This guest thing has been going on ever since the change over of players.
Paul might have more to say on this subject.

| This is a great topic and thanks for posting it.
We wanted the name to show up the voting and rating for members, but the way our stream licensing works is the actual music player must launch from our stream licensing provider. Even though the page looks like Celtic Radio, it is launching from a different website.
Since our voting technology uses a combination of cookies and other data, it is not possible to have cookies cross web domains. They just did not build the internet to do that I guess.
So for now when you vote in the player window it will be anonymous as a guest. Your vote still counts and is added to the musicians score card.
If you use the voting (rating) button on the main page then it will show your name.
Perhaps if we update our voting technology in the future we will reprogram the system so your name appears on all votes.
Glad people are using the Social Media Feed and watching what others are doing. Thanks again for bringing this topic up so I can ramble on and on about it!
