I have been asked to sponsor a Clan Cunningham tent at the NH Highland Games this September. I am looking for any sage advise any of you might have to offer. I am hoping to get some material through Clan Cunningham USA. I do have the application form, and I know time is running out, so any advise would be most welcome.

Also any Clan Cunningham member who would like to volunteer to help would be most welcomed.

Hello
I didn't want you to think that your post was being ignored! biggrin.gif

I'm afraid I don't live in the States and so have no idea how to run a 'clan tent'... we don't tend to have anything like that at our Gatherings on this side of the pond.

I hope someone will be able to give you a little information to help you with your endeavours biggrin.gif

I know from hanging around the Clan Donald tent at some of the Florida Games that alot of people will stop and inquire if they are part of Clan Donald or if their family came from a Clan Donald area of Scotland. We have maps and a list of Septs (family names that are included in the Clan) and if they are a part we encourage them to join. We also have items for sale to help support us, we've raffled off a bottle of whisky a couple of times.

All our clan members ussually meet at the tent prior to the games official opening to take part in the parade and then meet back at the tent for lunch, the local members bring food and drinks. This is nice, especially when clan members from other States drop by to say hello.

I don't this helps any. I hope everything goes well for you.

I went to the Highland Games at Genesee Country Museum last Sunday and stopped by the Clan Donald tent. Stevo's description fits the clan tent activities there exactlt.
