I have pictures to add to my new album, but the pixel count is too high. Any suggestions on how to reduce that count? Thanks. Ross |

Probably one of the easiest (and free!) ways is http://www.xnview.com/. After installing XNView: 1 ) navigate to the directory where your image is located 2 ) open the image 3 ) select "image" "resize" 4 ) make sure the "keep ratio" box is checked, I suggest Lanczos resampling be selected in the lower pull-down box. You can either use a pre-set size from the top pull-down, or choose "custom" and type your own dimensions. 5 ) choose the size you want it to be 6 ) click on "file" then "save as" and select a NEW filename or it will overwrite your original. XNView also happens to be my favorite image viewer. Did I mention it's also free? It's also multi-platform. You'll find most of the software I recommend falls into these categories. |

Edit: FYI, maximum picture size is 1200x1200 pixels, pick a size at or below that amount when resizing. |

Thanks a bunch. I'll track down XNVIEW and get it loaded. Ross |

No need to track it down- click on the word "XNView" (is that actually a word? who cares!) in my first post, it will take you directly to the website. |

Thanks for that information subhuman - a good way to resize the graphic. We are not going to increase the size of our maximum pictures due to bandwidth limitations, so this suggestion is excellent to resize before uploading. |
