Wow, we have received a whole lot of new music this past week. Wicked Tinkers, Enter the Haggis, Phil O'Flaherty, Winter Storm III, Rise (yes their new album and they have provided 2 extra copies to giveaway!), Eileen Ivers (request her Parting Friends Poem) and a big, big package from Runrig!!!

Most of the new music is up and running, but we still have Rise and Runrig to index into the broadcast.

Your emails and contacts with musicians does make a difference. For example, Runrig received many emails from Highlander Radio listeners and therefore they contacted us. Sometimes it is better having the listeners contact the artists. Of course, we do appreciate your continued support in helping us obtain new music for the broadcast.

Thankyou!

Rise's "Uncertain Wonders" was the first album I ordered when I started listening to Highlander Radio. Imagine my surprise when I received an email from the band thanking me for my purchase. I just ordered their new album, and will be anxiously awaiting its delivery.

Thank you Mailagnas maqqas Dunaidonas for supporting the musicians you love to listen to!

If you do buy an album directly from a musician, be sure to mention Highlander Radio. We do not get any credit/commissions for these sales and our only hope is that we will continue to receive new music for the broadcast from these musicians.

Thanks again! thumbs_up.gif

Paul,
I just posted a message in Rise's guestbook mentioning that I have ordered both their albums, thanks to hearing them on Highlander Radio.
Their homepage at Rise's homepage is well worth a visit.

Thank you thank you!!!

Its great that you are purchasing CDs, but what makes even a bigger impression than any one thing is when an artist knows that they are making sales directly related to Highlander Radio.

Thanks again! smile.gif

I know I make a point of talking about Highlander Radio in most any corrispondance with artists. And so far, it tends to be a pretty enthusiastic response I get too! I sometimes wonder just how many artists also listen... We already know of several who post... Brobdingnagian Bards, Barddas, Raven & Sock Monkey, I think some members of Amadan lurk on the boards smile.gif And Dave Hynes smile.gif All part of what makes this place so great! Being able to hang out with the artists! smile.gif Can't do that with commercial radio.

MacFive,
you may wish to start a new thread on this:

Clann An Drumma has released two new albums!

Tribal Eyes

and best of all,

Tribal Ways -their new live CD

I purchased them both last Sunday at the Highland games where they were perfoming in Culloden GA and all I can say is WOW!!!! They just keep getting better-both in the studio and on stage.... hope you can get both of these soon!

I received this message from CD Baby confirming shipment of the new Rise album I ordered. Definitely not your average CD dealer.
QUOTE
Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with
sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure
it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over
the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money
can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party
marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of
Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in
our private CD Baby jet on this day, Thursday, May 27th.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby.  We sure did.
Your picture is on our wall as 'Customer of the Year'.  We're all
exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

Thank you once again,

nope, they're not, are they? I've ordered from them twice, and I don't have anything bad to say about my experiences with them. And those E-mails definately give an interesting business experience. Part of their image.

I'm excited about the fact that The Elders said they'll be sending some music HR's way. They're an awesome local band that's got some stuff I hope everybody will enjoy. At the very least, I'll be requesting their music.

Yes we did hear from the Elders! Wonderful stuff, I sampled a few of their soundbytes so we should have them soon.

Yes, hopefully we will be hearing from them soon. I do believe they promised their new CD to us, so I am sure we will eventually receive it.

And about CDBaby - that is very cool. Paying close attention.
