AD This is an oatmeal biscuit recipe, courtesy of the Alford Mill in Aberdeenshire (I think it was on the outside of a bag of their oatmeal that I bought a while back!) I have made them and they are good. ALFORD MILL OAT BISCUITS (Cookies) 4oz Butter/Margarine 6oz fine brown sugar 1 egg 8oz oatmeal of alford 3oz plain flour 1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda/baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 6oz raisins, sultanas, cherries or apricots 1/4 tsp. vanilla flavouring Pinhead oatmeal for coating biscuits Method Beat butter/margarine and sugar together, add beaten egg and vanilla. Add dried sifted ingredients and fruit. Shape into 20 - 24 balls, roll in pinhead oatmeal, place on a greased tray and bake 180°c/350°f, gas mark 4 for 12 - 15 minutes until golden brown |
