Well It basically says what this is for.
We need More Communication between us before our Chars get completely lost.
If nothing else then to bring out every ones Ideas on where this is going or our dislikes. Like Labban turning out to be a complete Dweeb. *Looks at OR*
I would also like this place a to be an area where we can ALL get everything flowing and help each other. We can also post in here if we are going to be away from the board for awhile.

I miss 3R has any one seen her?

Hope ya'll don't shoot me tongue.gif

Honestly, imho a bard doesn't belong with a sword in hand, but then we all have hidden talents. I figure that someone good with words and music could well be quite dangerous as well though. Specially in such a magical environment as the world of HC. It's on this angle which I'm trying to build my character. After all, if he tried to do much more than swing a sword a couple times he's probably cut everything around him except what he ment to.

Posted by: Aon_Daonna 23-Dec-2003, 06:48 PM
being great with words does create dangers, yes. You can hurt people much more severe with words than with a sword or a staff.
And I doubt it would be much better in the HC world.

Posted by: oldraven 23-Dec-2003, 08:14 PM
I do plan on having Labban dangerously skilled with bardic magic before long. But first, he's got to do something durring battle. Can't have him a dweeb forever.

In his defense, he is a dweeb. He's a frickin librarian.

*tucks his head back in the bag*

oOo. gingernut *grunch-munch*

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 24-Dec-2003, 01:11 AM
Nah he is a book worm, he is just going through his changing stage from dweeb to book worm right now.

Besides Rider thinks the world of Labban even if he is to dense to see it at this point.

OK , any suggestions on what the first puzzle we have to figure out should be?

angel.gif

Posted by: MacErca 28-Dec-2003, 02:29 PM
How about as we venture farther down into the cave we come across a baddy that requires us to figure out that in order to defeat it we have to solve a simple riddle and combine the weapons or "Stones" at this, this opens a sealed passage to a ancient stairway to the top of the cave which leads to an ancient stone circle with the "Stone weapons" already engraved on them? This will lead to more wisdom on the weapons.

Just an idea.

Posted by: MacErca 28-Dec-2003, 09:38 PM
OK
Here is a riddle that might just work.

A lonely wanderer, wounded with iron, I am smitten with war-blades, sated with strife,
Worn with the sword-edge; I have seen many battles, Much hazardous fighting, oft without hope
Of comforts or help in the carnage of war Ere I perish and fall in the fighting of men.
The leavings of hammers, the handiwork of smiths, Batter and bite me, hard-eged and sharp;
The brunt of the battle I am doomed to endure. In all the folk-stead no leech could I find
With wort or simple to heal my wounds; But day and night with the deadly blows
The marks of the war-blades double and deepen. What am I ?

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 29-Dec-2003, 08:16 AM
a sword

A Shield. king.gif

Sounds good to me. But the baddie should be one of Grungahn's dragons, up in them thar hills.

I've got a comment to make on everyone's spending habbits. Five Golds for some wine and meat??!!?? Three golds for a meal and some whiskey? Damn, with inflation, that's like paying $600 for a bottle of wine. Maybe we should stick to coppers and silvers. wink.gif

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 29-Dec-2003, 01:55 PM
LOL, No 3 Golds for all of the groups expenses including my Firewine. That covers the rooms, everyones food and any drinks they should have.
Make sense now??

angel.gif

PS your right it is a shield.

oh on a personal note.. ya'll can get mad at me later but, I broke my foot so if some of what I say makes no sense, chock it up to the pain pills.

*hides under my covers*

angel.gif

Posted by: Aon_Daonna 29-Dec-2003, 02:25 PM
ouch! hopefully it won't pain you for too long!

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 29-Dec-2003, 02:57 PM
i put down the 5 gold coins for dinner and not to be disturbed...i though it was excessive but this isn't reality...sorry to hear about your foot rider hope you feel better soon.
biggrin.gif

Posted by: MacErca 29-Dec-2003, 05:14 PM
Good going a shield it is.
Sorry to hear about your foot, get well soon.

Oldraven I agree that it should be one of Grungahn's dragons to be the baddy.

Posted by: Aaediwen 29-Dec-2003, 08:39 PM
I thought that perhaps I should better describe the environment in which we now find ourselves. I secured us lodging, but it is certainly nothing fancy. I dare say, however, that this is probably the best that a town such as this has to offer.

The ground floor is all pub. Booze flowing, dancing, music. Drunks and shady characters galore... The barmaids regularly have to knock some poor drunk out to counter certain sexual advances. Not that rendering a drunk helpless is hard, but these ladies have developed a mean right hook from sending guys home black eyed. Despite this, they'll be nice to you if you're nice to them (and nicer if you show them some gold).

Up the stairs along the wall, and one finds several short corridors of rooms, several of which might as well be burning a bright red light, and the others of which are booked with merchants and solitary travellers who needed a room (or locals getting away from their spouse or who were too wasted to try and make it home. Behind the partition behind the stairs, almost out of sight to the back of the tavern, is another lost corridor of rooms. At one time, this had been a exclusive corridor, but now it had been neglected. This is where the party has found lodging for the night. The individual rooms aren't that big

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 30-Dec-2003, 05:31 AM

Thanks for the kind words,
dock says it should heal as long as I stay off of it,they can't splint the toes though .
I was running down the stairs in a hurry lastnight and lost my footing cause I missed a couple stairs. Go figure anyway, it's good that I work from home!

well Right now I'm not feelin anything. *hic-ups , cover my mouth and slurs the words "s'cuse mee" giggles then passes out*

Yep that's about they way I'm feelin.

angel.gif

Posted by: Aaediwen 30-Dec-2003, 01:04 PM
ok, I've drawn up a sketchy floorplan to give ye an idea of how the upstairs of this tavern might look. With the front of the tavern being at the bottom, the group is holed up in the back corridor, behind the stairs. I was looking also, to place a room where we could gather per Rider's idea =) That one large room at the end of the hall is for such gatherings =) This entire corridor (both sides) is paid for and for our use during our visit now, thanks to Rider's generosity with the tavern keeper. Anyone want to put their name on where they are holed up? =)
if the rooms are numbered as room 1 being the converance room, down to the end of the hall on that side being 11, then 12 - 27 back up the other side, I'm in room 12. Far end of the hall from the stairs, last door on your left. Cerrianna finds herself in room 13, right next door. Where is everyone else holed up =)

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 31-Dec-2003, 08:44 AM
I want the room in the farthest corner away from the stairsin the bottom left hand corner of the map. what ever number that is.

angel.gif

Posted by: oldraven 31-Dec-2003, 08:48 AM
Rider, he said that we payed for the top two rows, at least that's what I gather. I'll take 11. That's the one at the top left, ............. right?

unsure.gif

Posted by: Aaediwen 31-Dec-2003, 11:36 AM
comming up the stairs and down the hall, 11 is the last room on your right. And yes, the hall we have reserved is the hall at the top of the map, above (behind) the stairs. The one with the larger rooms smile.gif

Edit: ok, I didn't think of the room numbering until after I had posted it. I've edited the image and numbered the rooms. As well as labeling the stairs and pointing out how one would find themselves entering the corridor.

Posted by: Aaediwen 31-Dec-2003, 11:55 AM
Rider: that room you walked into, the one next to it, and the one across from it are spoken for =)

I'm in 12, Cerrianna in 13, and Labban in 11.

hmmm, after what I just read in this last post, Why do I have a feeling something very bad is about to happen. Walk into a town that is already on edge about dragons and first I almost end up on the losing end of a brawl, saved thanks to calmin spells, and now Rider goes downstairs adorned like a goddess and attracting the attention of a drow that's been trying to keep his identity a secret. I'll be interested in seeing where *this* goes =) For some reason, however, I expect there to be some cleanup required downstairs before all of this is over.

Posted by: oldraven 31-Dec-2003, 11:59 AM
Well, if she's already taken 11 in the story, then I'm alright with 10. I was the last to arive, so I shouldn't get first dibs. Actually, coser to the stairs means closer to the pub. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 01-Jan-2004, 03:12 AM
well Gents apparently you didn't catch my entire post. I said the room was just the way I had left it the last time I had been there which had been such a long time ago.

I tried to work with what he said but still keep Riders "Loner" personality happy. She has to have some time away from people to do what she must.
Is this problematic? if so then I will work something out & edit my post to fit accordingly
angel.gif

Do you think I should change my post Aaed, the change of clothes that is. hmm maybe I'll simply delete it. I am winging it here guys, I have no clue what anyones intentions are or how to help bring this in smoothly, but Angels True Calling has to come out some time. Am I being over bareing. some help would be good. If I am stepping away from the story then tell me so I can pull myself back in.

Bottom Left hand corner on the map is a small room away from every one and It is not in the reserved hall. I hope no one has a problem with this especially after what Rider has just over heard. Oh, & don't be surprised if after this Rider takes a lover. nothing more then a pleasure toy. but it will Improve the Dire mood she
will be in for the next few chapters. wink.gif way to go labban....

Hey Highlander are you above being Riders Current Flavor ? Ya know we ancients have to get some relaxing pleasure some time.
giggles and disapprears

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 02-Jan-2004, 07:45 AM
hmmmmm, is that a yes or a no???

Ponders

angel.gif

Posted by: oldraven 02-Jan-2004, 03:30 PM
I don't see a problem with anything. smile.gif It's just a room in an Inn. Not really a drastic detail.

indeed =) Have fun with it =)

I like the outfit, just wondering what kind of attention it will draw. I agree though, she has to don it eventually.

The two drows will take 26 and 27 near the stairs. Don't want any uninvited guests. Let me know if I need to move in a specific direction with the story line. This is my first time writing with others. I only been writing in the first person. If there is a thread for story writing maybe I'll post my 3 short stories.

Take care.

I think we should make it clear to everyone, who hasn't already figured it out, that we can't reveal another characters' secrets without their permission first. (I'm reffering to the 'Traitor in our midst')

In order to be a traitor, they must first have the chance to betray, and that won't happen if people know that they are on the wrong side. The traitor needs everyones trust, or it just won't work.

Posted by: Highlander 08-Jan-2004, 10:29 AM
I'll take my favorite number 13 for my room...

Posted by: 3Ravens 11-Jan-2004, 11:57 PM
(OOC Hi all! I'm back! Got through Christmas, got through New Years, got through the flu (urp). Wouldn't wish the last on my worst enemy.)

Being a Healer and worker with plants and animals, Josie wants a room with a window, so she'll take 9.

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 14-Jan-2004, 09:10 AM
Sorry OR if I stepped on some toes with the Traitor in your midst post, I thought we could use some mystery is all.

and Sorry to everyone for being gone so long. We had a bad Winter storm here that knocked out everything. We had to Ice Skate to get any where. which is far from normal for the Pacific Northwest. anyway. I'm back and trying to get us on the road asap.

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 14-Jan-2004, 09:12 AM
Has anyone heard anything from Celeste????
I'm really getting worried now.

Posted by: oldraven 14-Jan-2004, 10:01 AM
No problems here, Angel. smile.gif I just think we should be careful how much we reveal too early on.

Shoot. I was hoping everyone would join Labban in the pub.

Posted by: Aaediwen 14-Jan-2004, 10:33 AM
I'm kinda disappointed that people haven't been making use of the pub actually. Ya'd think that after a couple of days on trail rations, a few pints would be welcomed. Guess not.

Posted by: oldraven 14-Jan-2004, 11:17 AM
Exactly.

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 17-Jan-2004, 01:02 AM
Angel will be joing in the pub soon enough, damn , give a girl a chance to grieve when she thinks she has lost "The Only Man For Her!" *giggles*

WOO HOOO
I heard from Celeste today!!!!

She sends her love and says she is ok, they made it to Washington state!

They were caught in several snow storms going through the mountains.

now she has made a request of me.
She would like me to either take her char over, or kill her off.

I said I wouldn't mind taking over her char but refused to kill her char off. I thought of mabey sending her char on an errand run then she can get caught by a baddies group or something and have the Drows go and save her??? during this I would portray her char. but it would give other members things to do besides being stagnate and not feeling like they are involved. She said that sounded fine but, I wanted to know what you all thought??

So opinions on this please.

angel.gif

Posted by: MacErca 18-Jan-2004, 12:45 PM
Whatever you decide is fine here.

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 18-Jan-2004, 12:47 PM
MAC!!!! ya old bugger *huggles tight* where have you been????
is in chat at the moment

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 20-Jan-2004, 09:09 AM
That works for me...

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 20-Jan-2004, 07:05 PM
ok I guess I need clearification......

1 - Yes, I should take over her char temporarely
2- Yes, Send her on an Errand
3- Yes, Have her get caught (Me acting her char)
4- Yes, Kill her off
5- I Simply don't care what you do with her char as long as it fits the story.

Pick a Number between 1 & 5

*giggles and disappears*

angel.gif

Posted by: MacErca 20-Jan-2004, 07:51 PM
UH pick a number 7, tongue.gif
Ha Ha Really I guess that it should be 1 or 2 in the hopes that she gets her puter problems solved.

Posted by: MacErca 20-Jan-2004, 07:57 PM
OK Gang this question turned up in the chatroom, looking for some answers.
How and when is it decided when one gets it in a fight scene giljotiini.gif , how are we going to do that part.

Posted by: Aon_Daonna 21-Jan-2004, 09:23 AM
well, do what I did with Moira in the TG thread.. have her do an errand or (in the case of Moira) put her out of the story temporarily

Posted by: Highlander 23-Jan-2004, 08:55 AM
One and Two would fit, but the the Highlander could simply take her head... biggrin.gif

Posted by: oldraven 23-Jan-2004, 09:03 AM
For heavens sake, don't take her head. She may be a traitor, but there's hope for the girl in the end. wink.gif

beer_mug.gif

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 23-Jan-2004, 10:26 AM
Lets NOT take her head, She has a good heart she is just confused and working for the wrong side at the moment.

angel.gif

That's a very good question Mac, How will we decide who will die in the battles?
I'm willing to do my part and be hurt, even go into an acoma if I need to, we will have to have some casualties, here is what I was thinking. If your char should get knocked off (Killed) then you can right away create a new one and join up with us again. That seems only fair. What do you guys and Gals think???

angel.gif

Posted by: myriad 02-Feb-2004, 05:49 PM
Sounds good... I am always willing to go and return as a spirit. I might torment Mac for a while *wink* or have I done enough of that. Okay, well, I will do my best to keep this up again. Sorry about the long task. I missed you all.

I think Rider that you and I need to have a chat about that note at some point. Make it whatever you like. I really had nothing in mind.
Ahh and Mac if we are in cold weather I might prefer to keep my coat for a few days, LOL.
Aaediwen, I left the Cerianna thing hanging. I didn't want to write it as though I knew her from the past if you didn't want that. You can pick that up however you like as well. You can introduce us or explain that I am not just a wolf or do whatever you like with that situation as well.

I like leaving it so the other characters can follow up however you like.

Posted by: Aaediwen 02-Feb-2004, 07:35 PM
Thanks smile.gif Appreciate it. Her response has been posted. I probably should also post Aaediwen's POV... not thinking I will though. Now for you to post Lahatha's response to this timid woman who is not used to the idea of a wolf being around and not being a threat of some kind.... She's trying now, not to look like she's shaking in her shoes thinking her hand is about to actually get bitten off.

Posted by: Nefariel 03-Feb-2004, 12:11 AM
Hey, all! Myriad, my friend asked me to join this rpg and since I love this sort of thing, I was all for it! We've introduced me as her sister-wolf, and I'm really not a mean person, and although Ladaerwen may seem to be, she's not either. She's had a lot of hardships. After Gorn'egaun separated Lahatha from her, she wandered in a void, not recognizing much, but scared for her life and scared of every living thing. Lahatha nursed her back to health, and Ladaerwen gained back much of her power, but still mistrusts creatures other than wolves. biggrin.gif so there you go! This will be fun!

Hello Nefariel
Glad you decided to join the group, enjoy yourself, and have a good time.

Posted by: Aon_Daonna 03-Feb-2004, 05:36 PM
mmmh I just figure that Myriad gave you the password.. don't get me wrong but please notify me before that... simply because I want to be in control about who enters this forum (age wise and such)...

I hope you'll have fun Nefariel.. btw if I did give you the pass personally I'm sorry and you can consider all of the above null and void wink.gif

Just blame it on this evil tiredness that sweeps all over me and makes me feel like a zombie these days...

Posted by: myriad 03-Feb-2004, 05:51 PM
it'd be me....sorry 'bout that an' all. Thought about it when another friend asked to join. Told her she needed to contact you, but didn't think about it with Nef. Sorry 'bout that. Hope all is forgiven... btw, she is of age... so no worries.

And... man I'm sorry Aon, I've sent you a pm about myself. Sorry for the misunderstanding!
~neffie

Posted by: Aon_Daonna 03-Feb-2004, 06:01 PM
that's perfectly alright smile.gif no need to apologise.
I think everybody knows my reasons (age group) and why by now. All I ask is to be notified so I can keep it in a list and control if necessary.

Welcome and happy rpg'ing!

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 04-Feb-2004, 10:41 AM
Here's a suggestion for Celeste char. Why don't we have her betray the group and at the last second sacrifice her life to save Labban and Rider against the dragon?

Just a thought.

Posted by: oldraven 04-Feb-2004, 10:59 AM
The thing is, Celeste will be coming back and will want to take over her character again. It would have made for some great drama though. smile.gif

Posted by: oldraven 04-Feb-2004, 12:15 PM
Oh, and welcome aboard, Nefariel. smile.gif

When I saw that a new name was written under the latest post in the HC thread I was a bit weary. We're at a hard part in the story to add a random new character. But after reading it, you managed to slide in there in the most logical way, without disrupting the story line at all. thumbs_up.gif

Well played. tongue.gif

Well guys, just when you thought you knew where the story was going, I had to go and cook up a new twist. laugh.gif Don't worry, it's not going to mess up anything you had been working on so far. And I'll let you know as soon as I get word back from Angel about her take on the twist.

Stay tuned. king.gif

Posted by: Nefariel 04-Feb-2004, 10:51 PM
Thanks old raven!
Myriad and I discussed the best way to add a new character, so I hope it works out ok!
~neffie

Posted by: myriad 05-Feb-2004, 12:28 AM
I am glad to see we have worked everything out and that Neffie's character and Neffie herself is welcome. I was a bit concerned. How about we all stay out of the TG (Training Ground) char. description now. Unless of course we're in that one. I didn't even know for sure where Nef' needed to post when she asked me which Character Description to post under. I basically said anything that said HC or Highlander Castle was safe and all other /a shrug. So anyway, sorry for any confusion caused by me and I hope we can continue this HC story. BTW: I think it is great how Nef worked in the old name of the bad guy "Gahngun" (spelling check). Absolutely marvelous thinking and she is quite the writer. /a sends Nef a great big hug. Luvs ya 'cotton'.

Posted by: oldraven 05-Feb-2004, 09:08 AM
I was actually hoping some of the older characters, (meaning characters who are over 100yo), would use the name Gron'egan, as they would have known him from before. He only started going by Grungahn after he left the council. It's as if he denied his status and so changed his name. Sort of like John Lennon not wanting his knighthood. (it was a knighthood, right unsure.gif ).

Wondering about casualties... maybe the immortals might get some sort of scar from this adventure that they will always carry. A wound or something. Labban already has the scroll in his chest.

Posted by: MacErca 08-Feb-2004, 09:20 AM
That could be good, might play into a role we talked about previously in chat.

Posted by: myriad 08-Feb-2004, 08:35 PM
Hey Neffie and I got it covered. We will be dying soon... note the post I made in HC about the cloud of death and our desire for blood and so on. So how abouts we get on to cave and have blood spillin, life thrillin, fun. Not sure how we want to die but we think it would be best since we have not been a large part of the storyline. We will give you an idea soon of the death scene or will wing it as we get to the cave. Alright... so... anyway... thats what we would like to see happen. We will continue to be on forums and chatting with you guys and maybe you'll see us around a bit more. It just seems to work really well with the storyline and it saves primary characters from dyeing. Besides... We have been at this for 3 months and no one has died... that should beat some kinda record I think.

Posted by: Nefariel 08-Feb-2004, 09:19 PM
Yep! I'm all for it! This will add an edge to the battle! smile.gif

Posted by: Aaediwen 08-Feb-2004, 09:27 PM
I guess I just have this problem with death. There's something so... perminent about it...

Posted by: Nefariel 08-Feb-2004, 10:00 PM
hahaha! don't worry, it's nothing more permanent than those permanent scars you wanted. and besides, we're all for it! it will be fun to decide how we're going to get killed (will it be a valiant struggle for life, protecting our fellow friends? will it be a cheap shot from a wicked orc? will we accidentally run into a friends' blade? will we be injured so badly that we pray for death?)

We're killing off our puppies? sad.gif It was getting really cool having wolves in the group, and you were going to be part of the whole, 'Gotta Get Grungahn' crew.

Well, there are always other characters you can create later. smile.gif

I volunteer for the killing off wink.gif Cats don't like wolves and I doubt she would have any emotional qualm about killing a pair of shapechanging ones wink.gif

hey OR, your turn since ages... the Hag's been waiting for ages and you missed your chance for sum' action !

just a Q. What sort of action do you mean? I don't think Grungahn's into the ladies. Unless, of course, you mean as an entre.

Hang tight, I'm polishing my battle post. Still need to read through the updates and revise it a bit to make sure it still fits in. I just inished writing three handwritten pages of blood and gore for it that I've now got to transcribe and polish. You wanted blood and guts, I'll give you blood, guts, and nightmares evil.gif

Someone mind loaning me a blade just after the fight for carving a bound (and now with complete loss of mental control) orc? Although his body is intact at this point, just one glance at me and he melts by now. (not litterally... this time)

Posted by: oldraven 11-Feb-2004, 11:22 PM
Aaediwen, you can have my sword. I tossed it pretty early on anyway. I wrote a little flash forward where I find the sword later in an Orc, and think I did it. You could have just left it there when the battle was over. It would be comical, man.

Anywee, g'nite folks.

My question outta game is the same as in game. "Where the hell is Dragon Master!??" I must be getting on the wrong nights or wrong hours.

BTW, I think Neffie is fitting in to the plot rather well. Can I get a HUZZAAH!! Way to go Nef. AKA Cotton.

Well, if anyone has ever owned or currently owns a pet rat, please pm me. I have a few questions being a new "fancy" rat owner.

Just a little update for everyone. I will be closing on my new house March 4th. I will be out of commission until March 8th. Then I should be back up and running on the internet.

Any suggestions on moving?

Posted by: oldraven 23-Feb-2004, 10:49 AM
Yes. do it quickly. tongue.gif And if you've got kids, find someone to take them off your hands until you're done. They do nothing but get underfoot.

Oh yes. Promise them food, and you'll get plenty of friends willing to help out. Promise them beer, and you'll get plenty of men, friends or strangers off the street, to cary the big stuff. wink.gif

Hey all
Lierel congrats with the new home!
Aon... I agree it is hard to keep up with it all!
And Rider... Good to hear you made it back without much trepedition!
Well, I am insanely busy with University work. I am working on an exam that determines whether I get my degree or not. It is lengthy, time consuming and due in two weeks! AHHHHHH! Not to mention I am still doing my 36 hour a week, minimum, field work, and other stuff. Anyway, I am keeping up and doing well so far. May possibly be bald by the end of March but I am trying not to literally pull my hair out. It seems as though everyone is swamped so I am sure things will be slowing a bit in HC land. I will try to come in occasionally and keep up. I am sorry I haven't seen any of you on IRC. I guess I get on at the wrong time. I have been chatting a bit with Aaediwen though. I can always find him hanging about in there... or maybe I come in at the right times... Oh, I don't know. Well, have a good week all and I will pop in again soon.

I have a new character to work into the discussion. His name is Richard Le Chere. He is a court jester and bonded servant to Karenrah, daughter of a rich milanese banking family. She travels widely in diplomatic circles. Rumor has it she may be some sort of spy. Her jester is a jolly character and something of an acrobat. Few people (alive) realize he is also her bodyguard and angel_not.gif a skilled assassin......

Sounds good, buddy. I guess it's safe now to get all Characters to the mouth of the cave now.

*clears throat*

Last time I saw him, Labban was already there, waiting with Aaed. So the rest can catch up and Mac can post his cave scene.

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 26-Apr-2004, 11:27 AM
Drizzt Do'Urden looked at his apprentice and nodded. They started down the path toward the cave. It was time to end the quest and begin the long trek home.

Home, it sounded good. Liriel was confident that they would make it there alive and well. But not all things are set in stone.

Excellent post Mac!

I have a couple of questions though.
1. What side of the barrier are the nasty's on ?

second question depends on the answer of the first.

angel.gif

Posted by: MacErca 29-Apr-2004, 02:33 PM
They are in front of us and we have no way to fall back. The only way is to go forward and pull the lever to open the barrier , ( by the way we can't see it from our vantage point.)

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 29-Apr-2004, 03:10 PM
Thanks sweety That's what I needed to know. *rubs my hands together* now for the Dragon biggrin.gif

*reaches in to my grab bag and pulls out a dragon shrinking potion*

I think this might work wink.gif
after all I am assuming that this is a minor general of what's his name and should be easily taken care of. or am I wrong???

Posted by: oldraven 29-Apr-2004, 03:27 PM
I thought we were going to combine the powers of the sky stones and free the dragon from the thrawl of Gron'egan. unsure.gif

Sort of a solution to many problems at once. And it also helps us understand how he got to be so powerful/persuasive.

Mac, I think you should have specified who was on what side of the barrier. unsure.gif

By the looks of it, it's Labban, Rider, Mac, Highlander, and the Drow. Is Aaed on the other side? He was probably closer to the inscription than anyone else, seeing as he was the one reading it.

Posted by: oldraven 30-Apr-2004, 04:04 PM

Wonder if I should be making any connections with the dragon now, to help calm him too... Not sure. If I do, then the stream will probably flutter a bit at first since I'm just recovering and regaining strength as well. Will probably be a few minutes before I can near full ability again. Got to get cleared out so that I can make sense of my thoughts again.

I think the first Mind touch the dragon should feel should be the Dragon Masters.
Liriel I think your doing wonderfully, it still give a great deal of myster with the dark lady being involved. It was a great post. ok now time for Rider to awaken.
MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Posted by: 3Ravens 06-May-2004, 07:20 PM
Oh Gods! Look out!

Posted by: oldraven 07-May-2004, 07:40 AM
Hey, there is no wrong direction. wink.gif We're making it up as we go, remember.

But we most certainly need to align Gron' Egan with the Dark Lady now. It was planned out that he would be controling the cave Dragon, but having an evil aly is certainly not a stretch. smile.gif

*has a brainfart about the Hag* That poor Hag. She keeps getting pulled into things. No, I don't think the Hag. The dark lady is your charcter, so you should figure that one out. If you have any ideas about how to get these two villians together, send me a note or email.

Aaediwen. That's a great idea. I was wondering how we would get you communicating with Grungahn, and that looks like the most obvious way to me.

Do you like this, or would you rather we went with the scene on the hilltop we talked about before?

Posted by: 3Ravens 09-May-2004, 12:39 AM
Has anyone seen the catwoman or the wolfwomen lately? Where do they fit in?

Posted by: Aaediwen 09-May-2004, 12:20 PM
Remember, my characters are more spiritual than mental, Actually, I'm trying to think if it's practical for him to try and communicate with another being in an intelligable form like that. He works with emotions, and at best, generating a gut feeling, I believe. Since actual words aren't manifest until a little further down the chain, they require mental work to be processed and understood. He works with the soul. So he could probably invoke a 'gut feeling', and it's already proven that he can manipulate perception and sensations. He could probably give someone a feeling about something, but it would then be up to them to determine what it ment. It probably wouldn't be spelled out. (pun intended and ment to be taken literally)

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 09-May-2004, 07:44 PM
How about we just make the Dark Lady help out the dragon but really has her own agenda. You know the Spider Queen she'll ally herself with just about anyone and then take away her support at the last minute. She just loves chaos.

Just remember that her and Drizzt have a long history. I'll try not to make it far fetched.

tongue.gif

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 16-Jun-2004, 11:04 AM
Okay I guess I'm going to have to kick start everyone. I know everyone is busy with summer vacations etc. But if we want to start another story line, I think we need to get this one finished.

biggrin.gif

Posted by: oldraven 16-Jun-2004, 11:17 AM
Oh, I have every intention of doing that. smile.gif But last time I talked with Aaediwen he said he was going to work on the next post, which is what gets us moving again.

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 16-Jun-2004, 07:15 PM
Hmmm , does Rider get sucked in to the Void??? LOL

let me know what you need me to do for my part.

Posted by: Aaediwen 16-Jun-2004, 08:33 PM
Thought process hasn't gotten going with me on this. And what we were talking about, OR, won't work to easy. The dragon isn't near the group right now. Sure, there might be ways to get contact; but ones that would make sense?

Posted by: oldraven 17-Jun-2004, 09:32 AM
We should just move on to the cave in then. Raawin can fill us in on what's happened to the castle, since he lives in the woods just outside the castle anyway.

Now, we have to figure out who's going to be continuing on with us, and who's getting killed off. sad.gif

We've got to thin out the cast, since many haven't been posting for quite some time. I have NO idea what to do about MacErca. unsure.gif

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 18-Jun-2004, 01:10 AM
hmm well Cel asked that we kill off her Character .....................I wanted her as my apprentace though. Well lets start hackin away then.

Posted by: oldraven 18-Jun-2004, 12:49 PM
I'm sure some very sorrowful posts will follow now. cry.gif

No one mention Labban on the other side though. Remember, he's not himself in the Faerie realm. I'll take care of all that. Actually, pretend as though he is nowhere to be seen.

Posted by: Aaediwen 18-Jun-2004, 05:35 PM
Perhaps if I sense his presence fade as we pass through the portal?

I'm thinking to glance around stunned after darting through, looking around, noticing Mac didn't make it, and becomming somber. Not quite sure ho the fae realm might effect my abilities. Perhaps highten them somehow...

Posted by: oldraven 21-Jun-2004, 10:34 AM
I think the first thing we have to do is decide who didn't make it out.

The good thing about Mac is, being imortal, he's simply trapped in a mountain tomb, unable to free himself. If he ever comes back to CR, we may be able to bring him back. smile.gif But for now, we can't move the story along without someone to cary the third skystone, and Mac's just not around to have sword in hand.

I hope I didn't step out too far with this one, but I thought the Highlander was the obvious choice to succeed. And there had to be a thinning of the cast somehow. It was a last resort, but it moves the story along, and resets the group on a path that can actually proceed.

Posted by: oldraven 23-Jun-2004, 09:20 AM
I'm sending a note out to everyone in the company. Whoever doesn't reply within a week will have to be killed off. sad.gif If you guys can think of a better way of going about this, speak up.

Posted by: Lyra Luminara 23-Jun-2004, 10:03 PM
I have a rough idea for what my character is going to do although she came in near the end. She's going to basically get 'plans' and have a messenger raven send them to the group outside the castle..something like that...she'll be helping them and yea I don't know, what do you think

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 24-Jun-2004, 02:00 PM
Old Raven,

I think I have a way for Liriel, Drizzt and the Dark Lady to meet. We could let Liriel go into a deep mediated state and the Dark Lady seize her from there. Then Rider could send Drizzt into the darkness to rescue Liriel and either they perish or both appear close to the end?

Let me know what you think.

Posted by: oldraven 24-Jun-2004, 02:30 PM
Lyra, I like that idea. It's pretty much what I had imagined myself. Originaly, the Hag was going to be the informant on the inside, but since Miri must be doing the mum thing,.... well, you happened along at just the right moment. laugh.gif

Liriel, I'm so incredibly stuck with this issue of the dark lady. Who is she? Is she literally Chaos incarnate? If so, she would act as the guiding force behind all of Grungahn's acts. He has his own ambitions, but she would be the inspiration behind it all. A dark muse, of sorts with destruction as her only goal. Heck, he may not even know he's being prodded along. The Drow goddess of Chaos. tongue.gif Lord knows. This is just my imagination getting away with me again.

Highlander, since MacErca popped up out of the blue, mere days after I killed off his character in the intrest of progressing the story, your actions may save my hide from its own impatience. laugh.gif Just remember, the dragon is under a spell, but we have had to slay one already that was under a spell. Do what you wish with that.

Just a note that (Draconis Brightwing) will be making another appearence to help the hapless and somewhat buried MacErca, so if anyone sees this dragon try to be friendly, after all he is on our side. biggrin.gif thumbs_up.gif

If you haven't read the Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore I would suggest that you do. It is the best series I have read so far. The Dark Lady is the drow goddess of chaos and she has a very sadistic streak. She is also mentioned in the Liriel series call the Daughter of the Drow. Also a first rate series.

I would suggest that the Dark Lady is in cahoots with Grungahn for her own purposes. She has a long standing dislike for Drizzt and now it has become ten fold because Drizzt has taken Liriel in as his apprentice. She would not necessarily be the moving force behind Grungahn but has a common goal with him.

I'm going to move Liriel along with contacting the Dark Lady through meditation when the opportunity presents itself. This might help you with Grungahn at the castle.

what should Rider be doing at this point????

I am completely lost and have lost my way , does any one have a map and compass for me to use???

angel.gif

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 29-Jun-2004, 08:03 AM
Okay Rider here's your compass and map. I just posted, hopefully, to tie everyone together. Let me know if I went the wrong way or I need to rethink this.

Posted by: oldraven 29-Jun-2004, 11:15 AM
Ok. Here's where we are.

Grungahn has taken the castle. He's trying to stop the three with the stones. Kill them and take the stones for his own.

Lyra works for Grungahn, but is playing both sides.

Mac is trying to free himself from the mountain, while the Highlander is in there trying to get him out as well. The Highlander is the only one who knows he's not dead. (even though Labban and Rider should, since he's now imortal).

The rest of us were taken to the Faerie realm by Raawin to bring us back to the castle undetected. This has been bothering me, and Aaed, for a while. Trying to figure out how to get us back there. Raawin lives in the wood near HC, and knows what has become of King Paul and his court. He's come to tell us what's up and get us there quickly.

Liriel has some great characters, but they come from someone elses books. unsure.gif Not so easy to meld two main vilains and two completely separate story lines together, but we'll try. I know when I adapt all this, I'll have to change some things around here, because plagorism is uber bad. tongue.gif

Alright, Labban's hiding out is just holding things up. I'm on it.

Hi there, welcome to the Highlander Castle. Maybe some new blood will help get the creative juices flowing for everyone.

biggrin.gif

Posted by: oldraven 30-Aug-2004, 08:19 AM
Lyriel, I got chatting with Aaediwen the other day. The juices are flowing alright. Lots of development going on.

One thing you won't have to worry about, Snoogans, is dieing. You only get killed off if you don't post, or return any pm's, or if you are sick of a character/don't have time and ask to be killed off. It's not really a game in here. More like a really long story.

So, did you get any of the required reading done? wink.gif

Posted by: Snoogans 30-Aug-2004, 10:20 AM
Some. But I still maintain it will be more interesting and challenging for me without it. So I don't think I will read much more or it may affect how I would play.

Posted by: oldraven 02-Sep-2004, 09:41 AM
Welcome back, Highlander. biggrin.gif

Taking a week off work to look after my wife.
Internet not working at home.

Posted by: Highlander 04-Sep-2004, 07:49 PM
Glad to be back, whats happening with the story line, it seems to have faded?

Posted by: Snoogans 14-Sep-2004, 05:06 AM
I'm back but there seems to have been no creative juice flowing...
So just to add some extra spice two new characters, whether they will be very big players or not remains to be seen. So come on people try out the new guy and get some new juice flowing wink.gif

Apologies for lack of usual accent but my brain isnae in that mode right noo.

Posted by: oldraven 14-Sep-2004, 07:52 AM
The story line's there, we've just run out of people. And some very important ones. *cough*rider*cough*

Posted by: Snoogans 14-Sep-2004, 08:29 AM
IN that case I would flange my character into the same place as the new character and involve in some sideline stuff.
That or I could always force some new stuff onto you.

Posted by: oldraven 14-Sep-2004, 09:42 AM
Highlander, dude. We're in the woods man. laugh.gif There is no pub. Perhaps it was a long journey and the Highlander is delusional. wink.gif

Posted by: oldraven 15-Sep-2004, 02:50 PM
To answer your question in the story, Highlander; I don't have a bloody clue. sad.gif MacErca, Aaediwen, You, Snoogans, and myself seem to be all that are around. Rider, Lyriel, Lyra, Aon, and the rest seem to be missing. unsure.gif You notice it's all the lassies who stiffed us?

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 18-Sep-2004, 07:45 AM
No wait a minute. I'm still here and just waiting for the right moment to interject myself into the story again. Actually I've been waiting for Rider to come back so I can lead her to the dragon and finally confront the Dark Lady.

Should we take over her part or wait?

Posted by: oldraven 18-Sep-2004, 09:59 AM
She's still around, from time to time, so I think we should just strongarm her into posting once in a while. laugh.gif I'm weary of taking over for people, after the whole MacErca incident.

Posted by: Highlander 22-Sep-2004, 10:30 PM
No door to kick in no pub to fight in, what's this story coming to? biggrin.gif

PS. flying around on dragons tend to make on delusional..... thumbs_up.gif

Posted by: oldraven 05-Oct-2004, 08:25 AM
Yeah. Incredibly busy. The only time I have for this is at work, and I've run out of time there. After work I'm home for a few minutes before going out again to work on the truck.

The truck should be done half way through the month, and I'll have my evenings back again. I know I said this about the summer, but things have been crazy since July, and not getting any less crazy. I'll try and make a post today.

Posted by: Aaediwen 05-Oct-2004, 08:28 AM
just a touch.

that's ok with me if you are busy. i know for the next several weeks i'm going to be busy finding a second job. i just figured out i'm 28,800.00 in debt and no way of getting out anytime soon. Good bye vacation next year.

Hi all,
I have been making really lame posts in HC lately and so I figured that until I get my creative juices flowing again I would rather just read on a daily basis then post garbage. I see no reason for me to post something that will drag the story down just to be able to say that I have made a post recently. Makes no sense to me anyway when I think I have something worthwhile I will post but currently "Rider" is in the forest in deep meditation. Hmmm, maybe Liriel and Drizzt can come meditate with me and ........well it was just an Idea. Heck anybodies Ideas would be good for me right now.

but hey I wanted adventure in my life biggrin.gif

Posted by: Liriel Baenre Do'Urden 10-Oct-2004, 07:01 AM
Good luck with Helen, Rider. I hope she doesn't blow. I was just a kid the last time and it wasn't all that fun for me. I'll be thinking about you.

Posted by: oldraven 06-Nov-2004, 08:52 PM
Well, now that Rider's gone, I really don't know how to recover the story line.

Posted by: MacErca 07-Nov-2004, 07:45 AM
Yeah that kinda places us in limbo land since thats all come about.

Posted by: oldraven 08-Nov-2004, 08:52 AM
Yes, because we were cruising right along as it was. laugh.gif

Don't worry, I'll think of something. smile.gif

OOPS, Sorry, my friend. I didn't mean to break up the disguise! I am still considering what modifications to make on my base character here, since I haven't been active since establishing the jester as a good natured jester (and master assassin) associated with Lady Karenrah, the Diplomat/Spy. laugh.gif

Posted by: Aaediwen 04-Jul-2005, 05:35 PM
Ya know, it's kinda bittersweet seeing those last couple of posts in Highlander castle. The characters are waking to an empty world. It would seem that all they ever knew is gone, like a sleeper waking after a nuclear winter. Waking at a time when dragons are a thing of the past, and the story they were part of is now a thing of ancient legend. Yet, they know the reality. they know the truth. They remember the company of the great ones of old. And they live.

Posted by: oldraven 06-Jul-2005, 12:01 PM
And they will finish their quest, even if they have already lost.

Posted by: Aaediwen 06-Jul-2005, 05:31 PM
How much do we fast forward the timeline? It'd be neat if they encounter some new things they'd never seen before, things that didn't exist yet in the time they fell asleep. Maybe a different political environment? Similar to if they'd been living in the realm of the Fae or something...

Posted by: oldraven 06-Jul-2005, 10:35 PM
I'm not sure. I don't think we should go modern. Perhaps split the difference? I like the idea of using the Fae world. Like we fell asleep for a few centuries, but that world doesn't allow anything to grow old and die. So the three scots could have been sitting around that fire, trying to drink the flasks dry, for two hundred years, but never falling to alcohol poisoning. Something has to have caused the wrinkle, though.

I say maybe early 16th Century. Or during the Roman occupation, or the Saxon invasion (though this could be taking us back in time, since we all started out in a castle). What do you guys think? A company of the old world waking up to that world being erased by outside politics, or a world of logic and reason (renaissance).

And Grungahn! Oooo, I've got a good one for him! king.gif::thumbsup

Someone step in here, because I could write a book if you let me run with it. rolleyes.gif

Posted by: Ciarda Lili (Liriel) 07-Jul-2005, 12:55 PM
Oh please write the book. You could make the wrinkle be a spell that the dragon or the Dark Lady casted. That way it wouldn't be the heros fault for not finishing the story in a timely manner. lol

Posted by: Aaediwen 07-Jul-2005, 04:17 PM
I'm thinking something outsied of even that.
OR: I like the idea of that time period. Rennesance perhaps. I'd ruled out modern as well. Although, I was thinking an idea of Dragons are now extinct. Maybe set up an environment like in Dragonheart 2? Where they are believed extinct, but one evil bastard managed to survive in another form? (we all know who smile.gif )

Posted by: Faileas 08-Jul-2005, 07:22 AM
I see ye plan to revive HC smile.gif. I haven't followed the story from the start but I read bits and bobs and I like the idea as such. So I would think moving the time line would maybe give a chance for new chars to come in? Since Bubba seems to have come to a dead end it would be nice to have a good story going smile.gif.

Posted by: oldraven 08-Jul-2005, 08:00 AM
Ok. Ren. it is. smile.gif It was a time of global politics, arts, and science (albeit very limited science). Magic is now a thing of the past.

And don't count Bubba out. HC has seen much worse lapses, even when we were still in the swing of things. But you're right. This is the perfect opportunity to bring in new blood to the story line. This also gives us a chance to take the emphasis off of the three characters and spread it out among the rest.

I just hope Highlander, Mac, and Snoogans will forgive us for letting it go so long. unsure.gif

Posted by: Snoogans 08-Jul-2005, 08:02 AM
