Well, that was fun! biggrin.gif

The title "Verse of Vienna" is an anglicization of the title of the polish mazurka called "Versevanna". Even from the melody it really does have the feel of a typical polish country dance in three/four.

It seems to have quite a few other names, perhaps indicating something about the dance steps ("Shoe the Donkey" seems to have morphed into "Shoot the Honky" at some point laugh.gif )

The sheet music (just a melody line really, but you can make your own arrangement) is here:

http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/2320

Go to the tabs at the top of the page and click on the "sheet music" tab.

Verse of Vienna (mazurka) - Sull(3)p14

Sull - Irish Traditional Music Session Tunes (books 1,2,3) by Anthony Sullivan
Looks like sheet music for it can be found in Volume 3
