A favorite of mine on a snowy day or even with friends . 1 bag of precooked shrimp( medium) or the 25/30 1 box of linguine ( I like the thin ) 2 pieces if garlic fresh and chopped olive oil fresh basil ,pinch of salt and pepper
in a large pot bring water to a boil and add the shrimp till thawed it won't take long since they are precooked ,let cool enough to handle the take the tails off. when thats done in a large skillet place the olive oil and garlic over low heat let the garlic flavor infuze with the oil .Watch the oil so it dosn't start to smoke and burn. in another pot cook your linguine by added a little olive oil and salt into the water . when the linguine is tender drain the water and run the pasta under cold water this will keep it from sticking together,place on the side . When the garlic starts to turn brown and you shrimp and turn the heat up to med.and saute the shrimp take one out every now and then taste one to make sure they are not getting over done. when your happy with the way the ship tastes in the oil and garlic add the linguine and bring your heat back to low mix every thing together and place in a large bowl . At this point chop the basil and mix into the bowl also pour the leftover oil from the pan on top and mix well. Enoy with garlic toast and a glass of white wine. What a better way to relaxe . |

I CAN UNDERSTAND THE CONFLICT BUT I DON'T REMEMBER THE STAR OF DAVID BEING IN THE BLUE SECTION OF THE AMERICAN FLAG. WHY IS IT THAT EVERY TIME SOMEONE STARTS A WAR THEY BURN OUR FLAG BUT IF A NATURAL DISASTER OCCURS ITS HELP US AMERICA HELP US PLEASE. ON THE MUSLIM RADICALS MUHAMMAD MUST BE ROLLING IN HIS GRAVE SAYING THATS NOT WHAT MY TEACHINGS WERE ABOUT.
LIKE ANY OTHER PEOPLE WHOM HAVE OCCUPIED AN AREA OF LAND FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS ISREAL HAS A RIGHT TO EXIST AND PROSPER SO DOES LEBONON,SYRIA,IRAN,IRAQ,PALESTINE. IF THESE IDIOTS WOULD TAKE THE RELIGIONS OUT OF THE PICTURE , THEY WOULD ALL HAVE A HELL OF AN ECONOMY, AND LIFE.
ON AN AFTER THOUGHT DON'T YOU THINK THAT AFTER HUNDREDS OF YEARS OF FIGHTING AND KILLING EACH OTHER THAT THEY WOULD GET TIRED OF IT . AND AS FOR CONDOLEEZZA RICE SHE CAN ONLY DO WHAT SHE IS TOLD AND HAD NO INSIGHT TO STOP THE FIGHTING BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T. THE UNITED NATIONS PROVED ONCE AGAIN THAT THEY ARE WORTH NOTHING,YOU CAN STAND THERE AND CONDEMN ALL YOU WANT BUT IN REALITY ALL YOU ARE SAYING IS PLEASE STOP,DON'T DO THAT 'BAD LITTLE COUNTRY. |

Shadows ; I'm a volunteer in Hagerstown ,Truck1 stop by anytime and if I'm not at work ask the brothers to page me.
If anyone wants to buy a GREAT COOK book see if you can get Cooking on the Run. It has many good recipes including one for cheese cake that is out of this world. I met the author John Sierno in the late 70's after a fire at a Waldbaums Food store where the FDNY had lost some brothers.and we opened our firehouse in N.Merrick NY for the brothers to go . Unfortunatly John has since passed on but his Legend in firehose cooking will be in the kitchens forever.He had 2 books published and I had them both but in my hind site lent the first one out and don't have it anymore both are equally good. Good Cooking and Be Safe Capttrk1 |

I am a Captain in a Ladder Co. in Maryland and I do alot of cooking ,in the past I have given recipes that are easy and don't take long to prepare since you never Know when the bells will hit. Here is one that I have made and its not expensive and will go over really well . 1 pound precooked , deveined shrimp .Peeled I get the 25/30 size about $6.00 Garlic Spread 3 large tbl spoons full Basil I like this so I had a good amount but on the average about a Tbl spoon . 2 garlic pieces cut into small slices 1 box angle hair pasta 1 can of crushed tomatos [ optional ] parmsean chese grated {I buy the jar makes it quicker}
Prepare the pasta as any pasta and when tender drain the water and set aside In a large skillet place the garlc spread ,garlic and basil and shrimp,heat until the garlic slices start to turn brown.stirring often.When heated thru place your drained pasta into the skillet and toss make sure the pasta gets a good coating. In a separate small skillet heat your crushed tomatos then when you plate the dish pour onto the top of the pasta. Let the guys shake their own cheese on everyone likes it different . If you want make a garden salad [ we buy the ready made ] |

My wife and I are at the point in life where we to ,are going from a family of 6 to many a night just the 2 of us now that the kids are grown and on the go.We have alot of trouble downsizing our meals.If I make cornbeef and cabbage and we have alot left over like this past St.Pats day we will change the left overs to a different meal.
What to Do with extra cornbeef Make Rubin sandwichs WOW changed not only the meal but the country .Ireland to Brooklyn NY in 10 mins .Fast trip . What you need: Good seeded RYE bread, Sourkraut . The leftover cornbeef ,Swiss cheese, and some horseradish, or spicy brown mustard.
Cut your cornbeef into thin slices and then on a microwave plate place a nice stack of the meat ,next put your sourkraut on top . This is where I mix a dash of Horseradish into the Kraut to " Kick itup a notch" Thanks Emril . Then on top I put the Swiss cheese. Take your bread and toast till golden brown ,this will prevent it from getting soggy. Heat the meat and all in the microwave untill the cheese melts down. take it out put ont the bread , Goes great with a cold beer and baseball . |

Hi Libgra, I checked and could not find a specific clan ,you might try checking if any of your family served in the 49th Highland / Blackwatch .That would give you at least a tartan . Try using variations they could be from Wales or even Viking at the very begining.Good Luck and Merry Christmas. |
