Grey to-day
Woke feeling the
Same way.Bad night
Tossing, turning
For sleep yearning
Mind racing, thoughts
Chasing thoughts.
Sitting, pacing
To tired to work
To awake to sleep
So restless yet so weary
Ideas form but
None to clearly.

Leg Twitching, kicking,
Pain throbbing, in
Spastic beat, timed
To the thumping
Of the Heart.
Pain killers swallowed
Useless candy, but
The bottle kept nearby
Close and handy.

Night half over
Eyelids heavy
Few hours sleep
But not enough
To chase away
The Grey.

Hi Dave;
You know when I use to own, 650 Triumph Tiger motor cycle, (and I'll never forgive myself for having sold it) I always wore a pair of yellow tinted sun glasses, when I rode it, which always chased the grey away. You keep writing, and I’ll keep reading.

Though I love the color grey in this poem it is the color of depression and morosity. A well written poem describing it.
