Thank you CelticRose! I appreciate the compliments...I love those very same pieces the most as well. On a lighter note, I volunteered myself to design (I say design, though don't take me seriously) the new Kentucky license plate. Since the current one is sort of "Teletubby-ish", I thought I'd vamp it up a bit. Please excuse me for poking fun at my home state (born and bred) but I've gotta have a sense of humor or else I'll burst.

As always, enjoy!

Here's a drawing that I did for a t-shirt that I gave my 4 year old at Christmas. It is one of his favourite shirts now. All the parents love it!!!!

Hey Haldur! Love the new license plate. Are you going to enter that in a contest or something? Or did you just do it for yourself?

Keltic! Love the T-shirt too! laugh.gif

I was going to post something really nice about that drawing, because I think it's neat. But I'm having trouble elaborating on it right now, and I know it bugs me of someone just says "I like it" or "I hate it". I appologise that I have still effectively only done exactly that.

Thank you for the compliment, Aaediwen. I appreciate it just the same, because it's the thought that counts. smile.gif

Hey! Cordelia! If I may put my big mouth in here and share my opinion..here goes!

Well I just really love the portrait! It is simple and to the point! Nothing fancy and yet not minimal either. I think you captured the gals personality and whole feeling of the era. Just my not so humble opinion!

Thanks so much for sharing!

Very nice. I love the balance in the work. I won't say much more because I find more often than not, I can't put my finger on exactly what is drawing me to a piece and I have found myself repeatedly looking back at your sketch. There was an artist out of the London, Ontario (Canada) area who displayed a painting (portrait) of a Celtic king at the London Celtic Festival. My wife and I bought a small print of it but as nice as the print was, itdidn't capture the feel of the original. We ended up crossing paths with the artist, Jayne Tanner-Curtis, a number of times. I ended up making her some Celtic jewellery in return for the painting which has now been hanging on my wall for about 10 years. I am still drawn to the painting and have stopped trying to figure out what really caught my eye.

Anyways, thanks for reviving the Art Work forum. I've finished about 15 carvings for necklaces so once I get some pictures of my new work, I'll post some of them.
