Attacking other Kingdoms can now result in Gold for the attacker.

Build those defenses now!

Methinks Mac is a bit fond of bloodshed... biggrin.gif

Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 29-Aug-2008, 06:11 PM
How will the amount of the attack gold be figured. Will there be a place where we can park gold to save it for the auction safe from attack, but with withdrawl penalties if taken out before the auction? That way, with the penalty, folks will have to be willing to take that amount of gold "out of play".

Forcing people's hands, isn't he.....

Posted by: ranger 29-Aug-2008, 06:14 PM
I see your point and tend to agree their, Scotsman. After all, the auction is the only way that you can actually get "real-life" items form the game. Maybe some kind of checks-and-balance system. How about a "bank".

Posted by: Rindy 29-Aug-2008, 06:16 PM
sure now it counts after I already attacked...lol.

this is just way to fun!!! thumbs_up.gif

Posted by: ranger 29-Aug-2008, 06:24 PM
I agree. Fun....and addictive. No one should want to "rob" me now. I just blew over 200,000 gold in less than an hour!!!!! Where else could I ever get to say THAT. laugh.gif

With ~200 unassigned workers, hopefully some of that money went to assigning them tasks. smile.gif

I think Ranger has all those workers just to keep slavers so busy chasing them that they wont actually be able to catch one of them. You know the entire scattering cockroach method of defense.

Posted by: ranger 30-Aug-2008, 07:43 PM
Sometimes there's a method to my madness, but not all the time. Just some of the time, so in theory I guess that would make it about half the time.......

I'm amazed with the ideas here. I think I bank where you money is protected it a great idea. Adding it to the list. This will be an easy one.

Posted by: ranger 31-Aug-2008, 10:43 AM
Thanks, Mac. Now I have a small trivial problem that I hate to bother you with, but.......

I started a battering ram at 8:00 pm last night and as of 11 am this morning I still have 35 hours/months left to go..........Could the server clean-up last evening had anything to do with that? unsure.gif

Posted by: TamiMcLeod 31-Aug-2008, 11:55 AM
YEP me as well plus i lost a large amount of items.. that cost alot of gold wood and food...

Posted by: subhuman 31-Aug-2008, 02:14 PM
I think we all lost some things.
At minimum, the 10PM (GMT-5) update "tick" did not occur.
Anyway, we're playing a game that's free and somewhere between the Alpha and Beta stages. Data loss is expected, and many times it can't be readily recovered.

Just curious........any word on the status of a "bank" and/or the "auction" ??

I've got a wee bit of ranking now and think the bank and auction would definitely be an interesting addition to the game and a way to keep folks from getting too bored !

YIS,

Lord Seamus king.gif

Bank ?? Auction???

Oh Please do tell more.......banks are such nice places, and many times give items away to new customers!!!!

And an auction ??? Oh my.....I'm sure I can find some nice things there as well, once it's here.

Posted by: englishmix 11-Jun-2009, 01:06 PM
It would be an enjoyable challenge trying to rob the bank... or better yet, pulling politics to take it over...

Posted by: LadyDragonfire 12-Jun-2009, 12:30 PM
Now that could prove an interesting set of tasks indeed! Has anything been done in regards to the auction lately or the lottery ? I've not seen anything posted, nor been able to acquire tickets etc for the lottery yet.

Lady Dragonfire

Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 12-Jun-2009, 01:16 PM
The lottery had some problems and was canceled before the first drawing. I don't think there are any plns to revive it.

Posted by: olorin 13-Jun-2009, 03:59 AM
Perhaps we should have a lottery for some of your gold Lord Scottsman cool.gif

I know I'm out of the running for this idea for some reason But something that I think would be interesting to see is if it is even possible for anyone to touch you now. It is no secret that your position on the throne is a strong one indeed, for your score is one to be proud of for sure. And I'd be willing to wager that your kingdom is so strong the entire top 10 couldn't even do you harm if they attacked all at once. notworthy.gif

Perhaps you should hold a little contest to see if anyone can even put the slightest dent in your mighty walls. Offer up some resources to anyone who can maybe?

Seems the top ten is full of Clan Gordon members, how interesting, yet this would be the ultimate quest for those who are truly as bored as you say you are. Are any of you up to a task of such magnitude? It would hardly bring the enjoyment that crushing my small clan seems to bring you all but what the hell, you gotta be open to new ideas naughty.gif

Do any of you dare approach your king? twisted.gif

Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 13-Jun-2009, 10:59 AM
I would be more than happy to "entertain" any confederation of kingdoms, be it clans or just a group of folks, that would care to challenge for the throne. Bring as many as you like at the same time, heck, bring the whole of MK. Such a revolt would bring a new dimension to the game. I will not go quietly; in fact, I might be impossible to over throw. But how do you know until you try. Royal08.gif Royal11.gif

Posted by: LadyDragonfire 13-Jun-2009, 01:33 PM
Ahhhhhhhhhh........the gauntlet has been thrown down!

Now this should heat things up nicely for sure.....I'd say that it's time for the number 2 player to get cracking the whip in their kingdom and do something than just sit on his....ummmm....throne..........ya that's it....throne.

whistling.gif Well then, I claim no part in starting this one. whistling.gif

It shall be quite interesting to watch this play out from below though.

For my sheer amusement I'll give you this much, here's what it's gonna cost you just to spy him:

13,221,960 Gold

My money says your armies aren't even brave enough to march upon him and will refuse to go to battle. Quite frankly I think they will piss their pants at the notion. cry.gif By all means though, please do!! All kidding aside It would be quite interesting to see what would happen. thumbs_up.gif

Hi all, bye1.gif

I just couldn't resist this one...this is too funny....I'm still laughing while writing this....Lord Olorin you just crack me up...same auld sh...!!! lol

But I have to say that it would interesting indeed to see as when I was queen and invited all of MK's clans to come and bring me down the throne...

YOU ALL PISSED YOURSELVES OFF at the idea...I mean piss is one thing to clean up but going after dear CS...well I think it'll be more than piss in their pants that we'll see...it'll LOTS of brown pooh.gif spots in the behinds methinks!!! Messy...messy... stuff to clean up and the terrible stench.

It'll take a lot of flex.gif 's ....to bring him down...

Good day to you My Lady, it's very good to see your still alive out there somewhere. bye1.gif

I must agree, (as I said in all seriousness) that it would be quite interesting to see what would come of a fight like that. Yet it seems Gordon's members can only get enjoyment from beating upon my clansmen who are no match for their might. A rather vulgar display of power I think. Do ye not grow weary of beating us down? Do ye not long for a mighty battle of all battles? Surely your not afraid of actually losing a battle? Of tarnishing the "good" name of Gordon? I call bull pooh.gif because I think that's exactly what it is.

This notion is not something concocted by me to get your clan to stop attacking me. The Carolina Scotsman put down the beck and call himself to any of you brave enough to come for him, yet only one of yours has been bold enough to even entertain the idea openly. Are none of ye brave enough to go for someone who is stronger than you?

And what of clan Erie? Your clan is in the top 10 as well, net nothing but silence is coming from that direction, (you have at least been peaceful towards us, and for that I thank you). beer_mug.gif

I say Gordon needs to stop pussyfooting around and use their so called "advanced knowledge" of the game to coordinate something. Prove to all of us here that you truly are what you have always claimed to be. The clan that truly understands the game and are superior for that reason. You claimed this while in MacInne, and most of your clan is made up of it's members so this should still hold true correct?

You claim you were bored. Well this is damned sure a cure for that problem, and the entertainment value alone is priceless. All of Medieval Kingdom would be watching this fight like it was Ali Vs. Frazier. So what are you waiting for already? Step it up a notch and go play with the big dog. pimp.gif

My good friend Dogshirt, I appreciate your loyalty and I'm sure there may be one or two others who feel the same. Dear friends, please do not trouble yourselves over me. If you wish to observe from the sidelines, that will be good, but allow me this entertainment. I again invite all who would care to adventure to band together for one mission and one mission only. Coordinate attacks upon me. All come at once if you so desire. I'm saying that all of ye will be left to wonder what went wrong and I will still be King. And I'm asking my friends to sit this one out. Your loyalty is valued more than you know, but I must get out and stretch from time to time. Please let me do so unaided and I will invite you to the victory celebration. I've already laid up an almost unlimited to supply of ale and spirits.

It's been several days now since I first issued a challenge and no responce. Are there none in MK with the courage to even answer? What are you made of? Do you not think twenty or even thiry of you can bring me down? Are you really that scared? Do you hide behind your women and children? After all is said and done, does cowardice run rampant in MK? When the despicable cur tucks his tail between his legs and runs for cover, he will find you there ahead of him.

Posted by: MacDonnchaidh 17-Jun-2009, 04:58 PM
All those with spines, avert your gaze from the blinding light emanating from the yellow streak running down the backs of all former MacInnes members.

My king I would be most happy to pick up your gauntlet that you have thrown, so that you may bludgeon me with it. For the moment as it stands however, I must sit back and nurse my wounds and the wounds of my comrades-in-arms from the attacks of the "mighty" Clan Gordon. You would think that if they are as powerful as they boast to be then they might accept a challenge from their own king and master.

Lord Dogshirt, loyalty is certainly a thing to be most respected. However, TheCarolinaScotsman asked for challengers to the throne, not loyal subjects. If you truly are as loyal a friend as you claim then you should be the first in line to accept a challenge from your "friend" instead of hiding behind said "loyalty."
Allow me to ask you just this; do you not attack your king, even when he asks, out of love for him? Or do you not attack because of fear that you may fall down far enough for the Clans DARK and Bruce to exact their revenge on you?

Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 17-Jun-2009, 06:00 PM
I have never quwstioned the loyalty or courage of Lord Dogshirt. He has demonstrated both to me many times over. Seek elsewhere to cast aspersions. There are plenty more who could band together and have a large combined army.

Posted by: MacDonnchaidh 17-Jun-2009, 08:04 PM
While it is certainly true that my previous message pointed towards the questioning of Dogshirt's loyalty, my focus was and is more towards the questioning of his alleged bravery. I only moved to the subject of loyalty (too far I admit) due to the fact that true loyalty is doing what you are asked (or commanded) and not to do the opposite, while still claiming that you are indeed loyal.
It is due to his maligning of others and boasting of his own strength that I singled him out and cast aspersions on him. I could do so with others as well and still speak the truth, but I shall not.

I have maligned NO ONE. And as for my strength, here I am, do you come to me, NO! If you would cast aspersions, come, dance with me! I thought not!
The Scotsman and I were Clan brothers in McInnes together, and he and I were the soldiers that took the brunt of ALL attacks, incoming AND outgoing! All I have heard is whineing from anyone that has felt the wrath of my warriors! Where is YOUR spine? Stand up and attack the man if you don't piss yourselves at the thought! He has asked me NOT to attack you when you go against him, so I will not. So NOW what is stopping you?
WHAT A BUNCH OF SNIVELING COWARDLY SHITES!

I stand by my previous statements. I think none of you are brave enough to approach him.

Stabbing down those who are below you does not make your swords shine brighter my friends. On the contrary it does nothing but tarnish them until all your left with is the shadow of dishonor gleeming back at you.

Perhaps the time has come to polish your swords a bit?

I emplore you to raise your swords a little higher above you, perhaps you may find a little glimmer is left in them after all. thumbs_up.gif

It is hard for us to come at our king when we have nothing left but our tattered clothes to cover our own arses. But do I stand before you whining about it? NAY.
I have made a promise to some in this game and to my clan since becoming chieftan to cool my temper and point my finger not. I take what comes at me as it comes, and in the last several months I have done exactly that. You cannot deny this sir.

Yes, you have been asked to stand aside in a battle of such, yet the rest of the top 10 are more than capable of taking on the challenge that has been laid out. A challenge that was not laid down by me, it twas wecomed by the king himself. Yet here you are, all fired up pointing fingers everywhere.

We do not mock your king sir as he is our king as well and we respect him as such. Yes, I am all for seeing a battle of this magnitude and you cannot blame me for that, many in this game would enjoy seeing it as well. Nor can I be accused of any wrong doing for I have done nothing wrong. So what exactly is the problem?

As the King's Piper and servant it will not be me that sends an army against him as King CarolinaScotsman is not only my King and exclansman but also a well respected friend and mentor.

I would gladly sit idle and keep to my own as the other large clans rebuild and fortify to try thier best at giving our King the challange he so desires. But if any of the Gordons or any of the smaller clans are attacked by the Bruces or the Dark clans they will feel the wrath of our swords and pay dearly for thier indescretions.

Being a new comer to Clan Gordon, I am at this point too small to attack the present king. There will come a day tho that I will become big enuf to take up his challenge.

I've not got the ties to his Highness that other members of Clan Gordon do, so I will now state my intention to someday become Queen of MK!

As for MY bravery and leadership skills ?

Those will be shown, as I climb the ladder and reach for the crown!

I would gladly have taken on ten or twenty armies at the same time just for the exercise. But if twenty to one odds are not good enough for folks, well there's not much I can do.

Posted by: olorin 27-Jun-2009, 05:10 AM
Perhaps if I am "allowed" to build myself up to par I can give you a go. I know I would suffer harshly, but the experience would be a fun one for sure!!
