Posting, watching weather channel & preparing for the next snow storm.
Gwenlee, I am almost an empty nester too-just have my 19-year old living at home while he goes to community college...so I feel for you! I am told that it takes time to adjust...and on the positive side there are lots of opportunities that open up for you!
I was the first one in the office today and had to struggle with the stupid key. Thank goodness I was inside and not out in the rain fumbling with it. Then, I couldn't find the light switch for the main set of lights. (You can tell I'm not normally the first one here) But, now I've got my coffee and I'm just settling down to see what kind of work I do or don't have ahead of me.
I opened the blinds in one of our conference rooms that has a whole wall of windows in order to get more light in here - doesn't help. It's just murky dismal out there.
So, I've turned on my Highlander radio and I'm content now.

My computer at work died yesterday so now I am stuck back in the copier room on the server computer. It's lonely back here. They are putting a new hard drive in. Hope they get done soon.

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
It's not getting any better. I just had a call come from our Jacksonville office to put through to one of our conference rooms. I transferred the call and it just went to the ozone somewhere. When I would look down at my phone, it looked as thought it was ringing where it was supposed to be but it certainly wasn't. So, the people in our office had to switch to the other conference room and JAX had to call back. Then I had to try to explain to them that it was not an operator error (being moi) so I didn't look incompetent.
Hopefully, the phone guy will call me back in a reasonable length of time and we can get things worked out. I always feel responsible when things break around here and the repair people don't get here quickly. sigh.
Turns out my boss needs me to stay later since she'll be out of town the rest of the week and we have to get the billing done. So, I'm here...hanging out...waiting for the work to come to me as she gets it finished.
Listening to my cd of Riverdance.
And watching the gray clouds through the conference room windows.
Well the yellow pages ad exec missed her appointment. Never called to cancel or say they were running late. What a waste of time, both mine and theirs. They came in last week, spent a half hour convincing me to try relisting again , set up a formal appointment for today, and nothing. I even cleaned up my office alittle.

Ulsterscottnutt, your office is a cluttered mess! It is interesting though. I should give you my lady of Shalot poster, go get it from brian, tell him I said you could have it.
