I was talking to Angel on chat this afternoon and mentioned that I am a writer and she asked me to post on in Celtic Hearts so please don't laugh at me or I might cry tongue.gif I perform live in over 100 shows ever year but I am for some reason a little shy about this (nervous titter)

I do most of my son/lyric writing with my wife Arminta, I also tell short stories and make up made for TV comedy skits that would work well on Mad TV or SNL this to I do for my own and my friends amusement so I have never written one down and I also am in the process of writing a novel (i am writing that down...grin). But songwriting is what I mainly do.

This first one is one of my favorites and is called

"The Other Side" and if you would like to hear it go to:
http://artists.mp3s.com/artist_song/331/331434.html it will be there until MP3.com officially tubes on Dec 2. If for some reason that page doesn't work you can type in www.mp3.com/blaqlily. I also did most of the album artwork that you see on that site. And now ladies and gentlemen..........

The Other Side

I see a vision of a stranger, that I’ve some how seen before
Speaking words, that cut into the darkness of my heart

How will I know when I’ve crossed over to the other side
How will I know ‘till I’ve been delivered
From the land of Mordor where the shadows lie (how will I know)
Shadows lie (how will I know)

False faith, spirit revealing dark deceitful lies
Shackled by the chains of my denial, what’s my faith in
Have I believed a lie (how will I know),
Believed a lie (how will I know)

How will I know when I’ve crossed over to the other side
How will I know ‘till I’ve been delivered
From the land of Mordor where the shadows lie (how will I know)
Shadows lie (how will I know)

Building a kingdom, still I’m empty though I don’t know why
‘Till I finally realized we’re all mortal men
& we were born to die (how will I know)
Born to die (how will I know)

How will I know when I’ve crossed over to the other side
How will I know ‘till I’ve been delivered
From the land of Mordor where the shadows lie (how will I know)
Shadows lie (how will I know)

Armitna and I wrote this song about 2 years ago and we just won honorable mention for it in the Bill Board Magazine World Music contest.

Unfortunately they only put my name on the Award certificate unsure.gif

You can listen to it for a limited time at

http://artists.mp3s.com/artist_song/820/820824.html

I will be putting links on our new website (www.arminta.net) before long that will include some download stuff Angel or I could email you an MP3 wink.gif

Lonely

Been hearing voices in my head They say don’t keep on trying
They say it’s later that it seems, seems.
& now I’m feeling all alone & I feel like crying, crying, crying

Lonely-ly, feel so lonely without you, you, you
Lonely-ly, feel so lonely without you, you, you

At the table on a cold rainy morning I miss the Sound of your voice, voice
It seems so cold since I turned from you & I walked away
Pacing endlessly till morning, morning

Lonely-ly, feel so lonely without you, you, you
Lonely-ly, feel so lonely without you, you, you

Reality is a thief slipping in unnoticed & now I’m standing on the brink, brink
It’s not delusion you have never left me for a moment
Just was blind but now I see, see

Lonely-ly, feel so lonely without you, you, you
Lonely-ly, feel so lonely without you, you, you

Raven/Arminta,
WOW!!!! Emphatic wow! Lonely has a bit of a Cranberries feel to it. Are you familiar with them? ILOVEIT! more MoRe MORE.... LOL

Posted by: Raven 21-Nov-2003, 12:25 PM
We are both huge Cranberries fans - I think they helped us to define what Neo-Celtic music is to us.

Angel I will be offering songs as a download on the Arminta.net site by the end of Thanksgiving weekend.

Peace

Mikel

Raven,

I want to hear your song but it seem that I do not know what I am doing wrong.

Maybe you or someone else can give me some pointers.

You know how us old foogies can be. biggrin.gif

Hi Richard

The problems that you are having may be as a result of where I am serving the songs.

I will be posting them on the Arminta song by the end of Thanksgiving weekend so sorry for the wait sad.gif but I will let you know as soon as I get that going.

Always a pleasure to talk to you in Chat

Peace

Mikel
