I was looking at 3.199 just the other day and have recently got a job closer to home with that in the back of my mind and lately have taken to walking the 1.2 miles to work. Previously we were using about 27 gallons a week now we are down to less than 8 it really makes a difference.

I jumped out of planes in the army for 5 years and I had a lot of buddies that were afraid of heights that did it also. They did fine as you will. It is all perspective, from 850+ feet the altitude makes it not real, but the 34 foot training tower we used would freeze them all up because that is a height that you can wrap your mind around. But with encouragement they did it, after a while easily.
Bless your cause and best of luck.

Thanks for the heads up. We were not thinking anything of the weather until some friends that live @ 6 miles away called to say "are you all right." We don't have the tv plugged in and just thought it was a blustery rain, but that's what happens when you're a fool from the Gulf "it's just a bad rain storm i don't know what you're worried about" Coast angel_not.gif

Two weeks ago today I moved from North Carolina to Cincinnati OH and already I feel the yankeeness flowing through my veins. Already, I fight the urge to tell people how "we do it back home" a phrase I never thought I would ever actually say without making fun of Yankees (back home) its just they do everything so darn backwards up here; and my driving has gone to the pot, (I think most of it is just the Ohio DOT road engineers though."

And something that has just got me steaming mad is they use social security cards for everything, drivers license (they don't actually put it on the license because of supreme court ruling, just you can't make ANY changes to the license without it, bank account id numbers which they cleverly disguise as xxx-xxx-xxx rather than xxx-xx-xxxx I had to have a whole tribe of navajo code talkers working for the past two weeks to break that one, and as a worker id number. It boggles my mind folks they are just askin for it.

I figured there wouldn't be so many of them because they would all be in Asheville NC but apparently the yankee makin factories are working around the clock.

Oh well on the bright side we just got our first tornado's last night.

I am a bit bummed right know. This morning I was mowing my yard and hit a stump and bent my mower blade. So I went down and bought a new one and because they don't come sharpened, I proceeded to sharpen it. As I looked at the directions I read "Be cautious of sharp edge." I thought that was silly to put in there of course I would be careful. Little did I know I wouldn't; aparently I'm a jack ass. Just as was cinching the last bolt down the wrench slipped and I hit t he back of my left hand on the sharp part of the blade, I didn't really hurt too bad but I muttered a few four letters and then the flood gates opened. I'm glad I was out side it made a real mess. In the end I got 10 temporary stiches about an inch below my knuckle on the back of my hand. the problem is they are going to have to open it up Tuesday morning, I cut the ligament on my middle finger and I can not go through the rest of my life with a nonfunctioning middle finger. But The Vet (I know he was a vet because of the horse pills he prescribed) said it will be all ok. The problem is I have to cut some trees down at my grandmothers, have a yard sale, finish my house and move to Ohio next friday night, all during finals at school. Oh jeah I am left handed too. oh well lets see what tomorrow brings.

Tomorrow the 8th I will be traveling to U of Tenn @ Knoxville at 5 in the morning to take the annual State Department entrance exam. It is a 6 hour exam that covers the basis of American government and politics as well as international politics. Around 30,000 people a year take the test and they only hire less than 400. The odds of me getting hired are pretty slim but this is something that I have wanted to do for a long time.
Wish me luck,
Gene R.

I think most of us have an irreverence to our own passing and I hope each of our families act in accordance with our wishes the thing is you got to let them know in advance.

Personally I certainly don't want any embalming done on my body I consider it a desecration, I want to be on the big table at my house for the wake, with all of my friends around, the bill for the drinks at the party needs to at least make everyones mouth drop. My funeral preperations which would include me wrapped in a linnen and then carried to the woods and burried on Cold Mountain NC I couldn't begin to guess how many people I have (in my family) burried in these mountains and there is no place I would rather store my frame in solitude.

Sorry to hear your not feeling well. I tried e-mailing you a few months ago because I was heading down to Panama. If I knew you were not feeling well I could have dropped off some flowers.
