2005 Moderators Needed

As many of you know, we have a number of forums and volunteer moderators here on CelticRadio.net.

After reviewing all of our forums, we have decided that certain forums should have a knowledgable, active contributor that can lead the following forums:

Gathering of the Clans
Highland Games
The Celts
Genealogy
Scotland
Ireland
Wales
Isle of Man
Brittany
Galicia
Cornwall
Gaelic Language
Celtic Hearts
Highland Dance
Irish Dance

We are looking for individuals that have a desire to learn more about these forum titles, act as a resource of knowledge for these forums and foster an active community of members within these forums. The expectation is that these individuals should check and post messages atleast once a week and generally act in the best interest of the stated forum topics.

All individuals chosen for these moderating position on the above forums will have their CelticRadio.net accounts upgraded to a Founder membership (which includes email and web hosting) while they serve as a moderator and we will be providing a free Highlander Radio TShirt for 1 year of service. We will also provide a letter of reference for those that would like to add this experience to their resume.

Current moderators of these forums should contact us if they are interested in continuing as moderator with above considerations.

We would like to offer these positions on a 1 year basis.

Also, please include a brief bit about why you want to moderator, etc. We are having multiple requests for some forums, so we will need to decide.

With me starting a new job just after the first of the year, I better bow out of the moderator position of the Gaelic Languages, I'll still post on the board, but I don't feel I am doing it justice. If you can't find anyone else, let me know, and I'll try to work it in.

Hi Mac! I was just wondering when we will know if we have been selected to moderate a forum? Just curious!

Also, I might consider moderating the Gaelic and Scotland forums if no one else volunteers. Just let me know if you need me!

I believe a young 16 year old, head strong male, would be way out of his league even attempting for Moderator position! Good luck to any new Moderators!

Just an update on the moderating position available.

Please, if your are interested in any positions, please send an email to us. We will not reply to your email, but rather are keeping track of all of the people interested.

We have a white board up in the CelticRadio server room and will be compiling the list of members interested and then making the selections. We are a little behind schedule with the holidays!

Our hope is to have moderators selected and installed (sounds like software eh?) by the end of January.

Again, we are more looking for individuals looking to foster active conversations, rather than moderators that are out to look over member shoulders - no we don't want that!

Ok, as usually I am a little behind!

Tonight I am printing out all emails received for moderator positions and will map this out on our white board. So, if you have not sent an email please do so.

Please note this is just for the forums indicated above. Other forum moderators are not changing. If you are a current moderator of one of the boards indicated above please email us that you wish to continue as moderator.

In looking over the emails we received for moderators and we could really use a moderator of the Scotland Forum. I know there are big shoes to fill there because the previous moderator had a wealth of information.

I wish I knew more about Scotland because I would love to moderate that forum. I don't feel that I would be the best choice, but if you can't find anyone else, I would do it for you! Just let me know if you need me!
