I beleive monster offers links to a few sites that give tests to tell you , generally, what field you would be most suited for

either monster or hotjobs...and there are a ton of other site but those are the two most reputable

If you want to start smaller, you could be a local spy, Sis! tongue.gif
Seriously though, we need more info. What are you interested in, what skills do you have, part time, full time, etc. Start with a good resume if you want more than a burger-flipin job. PAY somebody if you need to, to get a good, professional one. Do they have a return-to-work type class at the community college? Most of them have interest and aptitude tests as part of it. Sometimes the city has the classes or tests at the adult ed center. Or some of the women's self-help groups do them too. But the most important thing is self confidence. I bet you'll do great with whatever you choose. thumbs_up.gif

Skills??? I have to have skills???? unsure.gif

OK... education is BS in Conservation. Have worked in the environmental field.

I've thought of returning to that field, but the market is tough. Would like to combine that with writing and write environmental impact statements. Then again, would like to work in the infant room of an orphanage, or taking care of crack babies. Then again, am applying to substitute teach. Then again, thought of going back to school for a masters. Would love to go in history. Have thought of trying to get into the National Park. Also thought of writing grant proposals...

So, hey, I'm wide open to suggestion. Nothing is too bizzare.

Does Conservation include gardening? How about Horticultural therapy with disadvantaged or ability challenged children or adults, or in a nursing home?

It IS possible to get a good job in the enviro. field doing enviro. impact statements. Write your resume around that. Try not to lie TOO much, as you will be expected to do what you SAY you can do. biggrin.gif
Next, post the resume on monster and net-temps. Scout for recruiting firms that specialize in the enviro. field. I was in the enviro. business for about 6 years. I went back to pharma because there is MORE $ there. laugh.gif
The above is all assuming you WANT the enviro. field rather than being a Madam or some such. smile.gif

Its too bad that you have no interest in counseling! You are so kind and so good at giving advice here at CR! I think you would make a great counselor!

Not everyone would agree with you dear wizard, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. smile.gif

I have often thought of counseling. (yeah, yeah, getting some too.) But right now I need to find something I don't need further education for. Perhaps in the future....

So, what? No one thinks I can be a lion tamer????

Yes Elspeth you having teaching as a job! I can relate to you and staying home that long. I too have done the same. I figure we have almost every skill in the world down. Think about it you have done all fields. Staying home is the hardest job in the world. You do what you enjoy. I have always thought I would like to do something in the music field as much as I like music. Never know someday....may be. Let me know when you get a job ok? Good luck!

It's about time that you brought the origional avatar back girl! She was always my favorite one....

Start looking at the State Jobs first. Apply thru the Dept of Labor for Ohio. Then that may direct you into something that pays decent. Also it would offer you benefits like insurance and make you self-sufficient in your own right.

Why are you asking me? You were the one with all of the brains!

I'm just the personality!
