Hi guys just found this page. My name is Andrew Provan McIntyre although my pen name is Rhymer. Mainly because I write poetry. Also dabble in Art.I am 58 years young come April. I started attending church while still in the womb. I have been a christian since I was 14 or thereabouts.Firstly I attended a mission , of which there used to be many in Scotland. This was an evangelical church non denomenational. At eighteen I lefdt in disgust, I had seen the rise of Hippiedom and embraced its ideals, befor drugs and money making corporations despoiled it.I did not return until 1996 26 years later, I was in Whithorn at a friends in their church when I heard God say to me, "Time you came back". Whithorn incidently is where Ninian brought christianity in the 4/5thc ad, his church was known as "The White House".
I came back was baptised in 1998 at a church in Kilsyth, Scotland.I am no longer attending that church as evil portrayed as an angel of light became Pastor. We left, my wife of 37 years and now attend a noe fellowship in the next town called Lenzie Christian Fellowship. I am a grandfather of four beautiful children produced by my son and daughter. This is me and you are you keep in touch.

hello glaswegian,a few facts to right.Edward1 attacked Berwick on Tweed and destroyed the town. His soldiers raped ,killed and mutilated any thing that moved, until Edward intervened to put a stop to it. Wallace did some things that would be considered barbaric but then that was the times they lived in. Our modern day sensibilities baulk at this , but then that was the way it was. At the Battle of Stirling Bridge. It was a small narrow bridge, only two mounted horsemen could pass at a time. Andrew de Moray, Wallaces co leader and who had gained back the castles in the North from the English, was a master at strategy. It was De Moray who said let the English cavalry pass over the bridge, when enough had gathered he ordered the attack. Due to the narrowness of the bridge the Scots massacred the "invincible" English cavalry. Unfortunately De Moray was fatally wounded at this battle, and so faded into history. Another thing that the english "Lords" envoked was the practice of taking newly wed women from their husbands, before marriage consumation, and trying to ensure that English blood was in scottish children. This also happens in modern warfare, the raping of defeated nations women ensure s that the conquering genes win out to further subjagate the losing nation. Wallace should be seen as an iconic figure as should Andrew De Moray, and many others that seem to have been overlooked.

I can think of two artists with this description one is Michael Marra, a contemporart singer/songwriter from Dundee. He has a very low voice, gravely even.Sings in a talking fashion. www.marra.me.uk. Then there is Brian McNeill . Brian is an ex Battlefield Band member now sings solo:www.brianmcneill.co.uk. My favourite track of his is "Muir and the Master Builder" an absolute classic.Hope this helps if not then check them out anyway.

Just to let you know . I am a member of the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) here in Scotland. I am really into bird watching. We get plenty in the garden and occasionally a Sparrow Hawk. We also have plenty of Buzzards in the area, they nest nearby. One day last year a Sparrow Hawk sat on the fence with the rising sun shining on her, a truly magnificent site. Only once I spotted a Golden eagle, high in the sky riding the thermals, beautiful site. This was near Oban in the west highlands. having found this thread has whetted my desire again to do Falconry...must check out A Bird of prey Centre near us in Cumbernauld.

From out of parting mist
figures grey and ethereal
are walking towards the fire
to the tune of a wooden lyre.

with trepidation and a little fear
they sat beside me
and into the flames thay did peer
what they saw none can tell.

music arose from in the mist
pipes and drums amidst cannon fire
cries and shouts and clashing blades
told of battles amidst the glens.
