QUOTE (oldraven @ 05-Jan-2005, 03:18 PM)
Nice getup, Snoogans. thumbsup.gif

Maisky, I don't think you realise, I play a human in this series. laugh.gif I think you gave Labban just the ego boost he needed, however. wink.gif

OOPS, Sorry, my friend. I didn't mean to break up the disguise! I am still considering what modifications to make on my base character here, since I haven't been active since establishing the jester as a good natured jester (and master assassin) associated with Lady Karenrah, the Diplomat/Spy. laugh.gif

Ya know, it's kinda bittersweet seeing those last couple of posts in Highlander castle. The characters are waking to an empty world. It would seem that all they ever knew is gone, like a sleeper waking after a nuclear winter. Waking at a time when dragons are a thing of the past, and the story they were part of is now a thing of ancient legend. Yet, they know the reality. they know the truth. They remember the company of the great ones of old. And they live.

And they will finish their quest, even if they have already lost.

How much do we fast forward the timeline? It'd be neat if they encounter some new things they'd never seen before, things that didn't exist yet in the time they fell asleep. Maybe a different political environment? Similar to if they'd been living in the realm of the Fae or something...

I'm not sure. I don't think we should go modern. Perhaps split the difference? I like the idea of using the Fae world. Like we fell asleep for a few centuries, but that world doesn't allow anything to grow old and die. So the three scots could have been sitting around that fire, trying to drink the flasks dry, for two hundred years, but never falling to alcohol poisoning. Something has to have caused the wrinkle, though.

I say maybe early 16th Century. Or during the Roman occupation, or the Saxon invasion (though this could be taking us back in time, since we all started out in a castle). What do you guys think? A company of the old world waking up to that world being erased by outside politics, or a world of logic and reason (renaissance).

And Grungahn! Oooo, I've got a good one for him! king.gif::thumbsup

Someone step in here, because I could write a book if you let me run with it. rolleyes.gif

Oh please write the book. You could make the wrinkle be a spell that the dragon or the Dark Lady casted. That way it wouldn't be the heros fault for not finishing the story in a timely manner. lol

I'm thinking something outsied of even that.
OR: I like the idea of that time period. Rennesance perhaps. I'd ruled out modern as well. Although, I was thinking an idea of Dragons are now extinct. Maybe set up an environment like in Dragonheart 2? Where they are believed extinct, but one evil bastard managed to survive in another form? (we all know who smile.gif )

I see ye plan to revive HC smile.gif. I haven't followed the story from the start but I read bits and bobs and I like the idea as such. So I would think moving the time line would maybe give a chance for new chars to come in? Since Bubba seems to have come to a dead end it would be nice to have a good story going smile.gif.

Ok. Ren. it is. smile.gif It was a time of global politics, arts, and science (albeit very limited science). Magic is now a thing of the past.

And don't count Bubba out. HC has seen much worse lapses, even when we were still in the swing of things. But you're right. This is the perfect opportunity to bring in new blood to the story line. This also gives us a chance to take the emphasis off of the three characters and spread it out among the rest.

I just hope Highlander, Mac, and Snoogans will forgive us for letting it go so long. unsure.gif
