A place to air the things that people do that DRIVE YOU CRAZY!

I'll start out with People who don't use turn signals! Do you think we can read your mind? Do you want them to be new and unused when you trade the car in?

I don't have one specific pet peave about people, but, here is a weird one. You put something on a table, chair, etc then it falls off. You kindly put it back where you wanted it to go....then it falls again. You ,much more forcefully, place it somewhere else where you think, it shouldn't fall here....then what does it do? It freakin falls. It seems as if pencils, notebooks, and anything else not weighing a ton all have an obsession with the floor. This is the only time I ever throw things. smile.gif

Sorry I broke the rules, Dogshirt, but I guess you can see people do this and it works the same way.

I'm so grossed out by what I call "mouth noises" That includes people eating...especially crunchy foods, chewing finger nails, any thing that makes noises like that. My kids think it's so funny, they like to chew in my ear and I get sooooo mad! I don't know if that is a pet peeve pr just a wierd psycho thing.

Dog, thank you for starting this Pet Peeves topic. It’s a vast one.

Yes, I couldn’t agree more. Not using turn signals is a big one. In fact I’ve taken to reading car language, not un like body language. Rather then depending on whether other drivers have intentionally indicated their intentions. Especially when you pull up behind someone at a red light, at a busy intersection. Then, all of a sudden the car in front of you indicates a left turn, after the light went green. It’s enough to make you wish you had a Howitzer mounted on my hood. Always leave yourself enough room to go around.

But that’s doesn’t pisses me off as much as when someone tells me that I don’t understand something. Excuse me! I’ll be the one to deciding whether I understand something or not…

I hate when you are talking with someone about something and tey just completely dismiss and ignore what you are saying as irrelevant.

Example:
"I loved Superman Returns, it was a great movie!"
Me: "Well, it was alright, but I thought it was kinda boring and had some flaws."
"No, it wasn't boring. You liked it."

Drives me nuts!

People talking on cell phones while they are driving. People talking on cell phones while they are in the line at McDonalds. People talking on cell phones in the stall next to you when you're using the bathroom at Wal-Mart. People talking on the cell phone while they are in the library. Hearing someone's cell phone ring while you're in CHURCH!

Come on, people! Whatever happened to common human courtesyand dignity? Don't you think the poor kid behind the check out counter at McDonald's deserves your entire attention? Or is your discussion of WHATEVER it is you are talking about more important than treating that poor kid - who is only trying to do his or her job - like a human being rather than your menial servant? Don't you think church is important enough to take the time to turn the darned ringer off? If you are expecting an important call then at least put the ringer on vibrate, then silently excuse yourself and go out of the sanctuary to talk. As one preacher said during a service - "You'd better answer that - it might be Jesus calling!"

Amen! I admit I've answered a few phone calls in Wal-Mart but usually I'm telling my beloved partner my location because she wandered off and can't find me. wink.gif

What I don't do is carry on an entire conversation from the time I enter to the time I leave. I've seen people actually do that. I've almost been run over by them because they can't control their carts while they talk! ohmy.gif

I have to say cell phones in the library are the worse though. I worked for a library for two years and if I had a nickel for every time I told someone to get off their cell phone...

Which brings to me my #1 pet peeve - people who don't read (i.e. pay attention to large signs that are right in front of your face) then get enraged when you call them on it. Example: When I would tell people that cell phones must be off in the library and point to the numerous signs stating as such a majority would either argue with me like the rules didn't apply to them or throw a fit. One lady proceeded to tell me that it was a f$@#%$% stupid rule, call me a beatch then dramatically storm away. blink.gif Reality check please.

When people say things like: "Just my two cents" or any other variation, either on a forum or irl.
